BACKGROUND

Since he was young, Mark has been an exceptional student who focused on his studies and got along well with his family – he scored highly on exams, participated in school activities, ate dinner with the family, and never stayed out the house later than nine. However, upon entering college, his troubles began. It was weeks after first semester commenced when he met his later-to-be first boyfriend, Park Minjoon, who at first seemed like a nice guy but, as time progressed, started to influence Mark.

At the beginning of their relationship, it was convincing him to cheat on an exam but as the months flew by, Mark unknowingly found himself growing farther and farther from the perfect son he once was, instead skipping classes and sneaking out at ungodly hours to late-night gatherings and parties with Minjoon. Despite his transformation however, one part of his conscience remained: don’t drink, never do drugs.

Everything was going well; it had been 22 months since he first met Minjoon, 15 months since he first cheated on his exams, 13 months since he started skipping class, and 4 months since he began slipping out the house for late-night parties. July 13 was the night in which Mark’s life came crashing down. As usual, he was at the club with Minjoon and some friends when he made the mistake of accepting alcohol – one glass and he was gone, judgement vanquished and unable to stop himself from leaving the club with the others. One thing led to another and the next thing he knew, he was holding a bat and ganging up on a civilian only to be tackled by a cop minutes later.

His parents found out of course and now his record has been tainted with the felony of aggravated robbery. Korea’s Academy for Troubled Boys was his new home – he doubted it would feel much of a home for him; Mark had only one objective now: survive this place and get out.

PERSONALITY

Before entering the academy and meeting his now ex-boyfriend Minjoon, Mark was a very honest, hard-working, and family-oriented individual who prioritized his loved ones and his studies. However, after he and Minjoon become a couple, Mark slowly strayed from the image of the ideal soon and began to live a double life, skipping classes at the university and sneaking out at night to have some fun. After being hauled to jail due to aggravated assault and sobering up from the alcohol that influenced his behavior, Mark realized the mistake he made not only costed the trust bestowed upon him by his parents but also costed him his bright future.

Since then, Mark has drawn withfrom his once easygoing and optimistic character and is now very reserved in order to avoid any trouble, both with the other students and with the administration. He is hard-working and good-hearted, and is working his best to earn the trust of the faculty so that he can leave the institution as soon as possible.

PLOT #1 : TAEHYUNG : TAKEN Upon playing basketball in the gym to let off some steam, Mark meets Taehyung who immediately strikes him as suspicious. Despite his efforts to avoid the other though, Taehyung seems to have a knack for always appearing in the same location he is. Not only that but he appears to have an objective too: get Mark into trouble as much as possible and prevent him from leaving the Academy anytime soon -- as if Mark already hadn't enough trouble, now he had to deal with a flirty and annoyingly charismatic Class A student who's out to get him.
