taecyeon came from a rough family where stability wasn't always there, despite everyone else thinking they were the perfect group. his parents separated while he was young, his step father used to whack him around here and there. money was always tight. things didn't always go right. during his junior year of college, his step father decided to cut him off and it was tough to pay his college tutition, eventually leading to him dropping out of school. while looking around for a job, he discovered one at the prisons as a guard. it was a steady job with decent pay and government benefits, something that he needed at the moment. some stability for once.
personality wise, taecyeon can seem cold at times. he struggles with trying to stay neutral and dealing with this certain power trip he gets from his position as a guard. despite some of the bad things he might do here and there, he's a good guy deep inside, but has a hard time showing it. for now, sometimes it shows, but it's a rare sight to find. he tries not to let it show too much because he doesn't want to come off as weak.
