Kim Hyuna was never quite your normal child. She was extremely intelligent, for one thing. She began reading without help at three years old, reading children's books to her parents. Of course, they were the average books one might read to their young children, Dr. Seuss size, but it was still impressive. From a young age, Hyuna always hung around the older boys, the ones that were six years older than her, and played their games. She became known as their 'little sister', always following one of them somewhere and learning something new in the process. This also worked out in her favor, as she had several older brothers to run off any boys who bothered her; Hyuna had been seven when she discovered she was homoual. At six years old, Hyuna had begun training in Soo Bahk Do, a Korean martial art that was founded in 1945. 

 

Hyuna graduated high school at sixteen with flying colors, but she decided that she wasn't attending college, much to the horror and shock of her parents. Instead, Hyuna jumped right into the working world, quite the independent spirit. She somehow managed to land a job as a fitness trainer at a large gym, and everything went uphill from there. 

Hyuna is now twenty years old. She works her full-time job as a fitness instructor alongside two part-time jobs (barista and babysitter) and a stand-in job as a bartender.

Kim Hyuna has never behaved like a girly girl or a cute girl. Many would go so far as to title her 'manly', due to her tough behavior and her tomboy attitude. However, Hyuna has a womanly side and a cute side. She just buries it under layers of her strong persona; she's always been tough, protective and mean or teasing. She sometimes turns into a mother over her 'ducklings'.
