As a child, hyunwoo suffered from an abusive father and an absent mother, having died at his birth and his father blaming him every day of his life. In isolation, he learned independency and grew a hardenend exterior, living without friends nor anyone to trust. Once the world fell apart, and the rules that once applied were thrown away, he killed his father without hesitation. Not for the sake of his sanity nor revenge, but to spare the world of knowing what an awful man he could be in the face of impulsive actions. 

For the most part, Hyunwoo started off alone, a wanderer, surviving on his ability to move silently town to town, but having found a group of survivers, he found strength in numbers, and while he trusts no one, it's better than being alone.
