Before the Outbreak
Jennie is an orphan but she didn't lose her parents to the hoard of zombies - no - she lost them to some s who wanted their car as they were coming from a camping trip. She didn't even cry - no - the waterworks came later. The shock got to her first. It took 5 gunshots and the two people she cared about the most were gone. She was only 6 years old when it all happened and she doesn't remember what type of car they had or what her parents look-like (she probably would have forgotten if she didn't have photos of them) but one thing is for sure is that she'll never forget those ers' faces. She sees them when she's awake or asleep; eyes open or closed - she'll never forget. Jiu. Daniel. Jun. They were stupid enough to shout each other's names while they hurried to drive away, leaving little Jennie on the sidewalk with er parents' blood pooling around her. Now, she recites those names every night as she falls asleep - almost like a prayer. On the bright side, Jennie had her military uncle Hyunwoo take her in. He was the one that picked her up at the police station on that night. She still wasn't crying. Police officers were trying to get information out of the poor girl but she wouldn't budge. It took her uncle an hour to get her to talk and she broke down - the poor child. The bastards had gotten away and she had done nothing. Too young and too fragile. Jennie never went back to school after that and everything she knows was taught to her by Hyunwoo and the other soldiers that he worked with back at camp. She became a familiar face and they became her new family. They trained her as soon as she was old enough to fire a gun, thanks to her persistent ways. A young girl with a motive to kill, what could be deadlier? Jiu. Daniel. Jun. They may have gotten away but Jennie was going to make them realize their one terrible mistake in their pathetic lives;
The fact that they decided to keep her alive.
After the Outbreak
Despite being raised by the military with all their rules and discipline, Jennie has never been the type to take orders. It's not she ever completely went against her uncle but every time she was told to do something that would guarantee her safety, she would do almost the exact opposite. The young girl cares about surviving too but she wasn't just going to sit around and wait for some kind of signal that everything was okay. That's exactly what she did when her family was attacked and just look where it got her. She was going to everything in her power to assure not only her safety but the safety of others. Hell, she would shoot herself in the head first if she was ever infected before she ever sits down and waits. After the outbreak, Jennie decided to run away from her uncle and survive on her own. Uncle Hyunwoo was more pissed and put her on maximum security when she first came back a month after her escape. Slowly, he figured that nothing was going to stop his niece from running away and he just made her promise that no matter what, she would always come back. Jennie was never really part of the military but she still works with them for a few missions that they needed her expertise, being out in the wild makes you learn more information about the zombies than being cooped up in high walls with a false sense of security. Uncle Hyunwoo could never understand why Jennie would want to ever leave but she had two reasons, both of which he would never be happy knowing; one, she couldn't fight as much as she wanted with the military and two, Uncle Hyunwoo would never allow Jennie to kill anyone in cold blood.
