past THOUGH TAEYEON GREW UP WITHOUT A COMPLETE FAMILY, SHE CONSIDERED HERSELF EXTREMELY FORTUNATE. HER MOTHER LOVED HER TO NO END AND HER ELDER BROTHER FILLED THE FATHER FIGURE THAT WAS MISSING SINCE HER BIRTH. HER MOTHER WORKED HARD TO MAKE ENDS MEET FOR THEIR FAMILY, BALANCING BEING A HOUSEWIFE AND WORKING AS A TEACHING ASSISTANT AT THE LOCAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. JIWOONG WAS A MERE THREE YEARS OLDER THAN HERSELF, YET HE ACTED AS IF HE WERE MANY TIMES THAT MENTALLY. He was a hardworker and spent a lot of his time studying, resulting in the two siblings becoming slightly more distant as they aged.
JUST OVER TWO WEEKS AFTER SHE HAD PASSED INITIATION, THE PHYSICAL EFFECTS OF THE VIRUS HAD STARTED SHOWING OVER SOUTH KOREA. HER low CLEAREANCE level AS A FIELD AGENT FOR THE NATIONAL INTELLIGENCE SERVICE MEANT THAT SHE, LIKE THE CITIZENS OF HER COUNTRY, Were CLUELESS TO THE BIOLOGICAL THREAT THE WORLD WOULD SOON BE FACING. AS THE GOVERMENT TRIED TO CONTAIN THE VIRUS, TAEYEON WAS ASSIGNED TO A SMALL TEAM SENT TO A QUARANTINE ZONE WHERE THE BODIES OF THOSE INFECTED BEGAN TO RISE AGAIN AS THE REANIMATION PROCESS COMMENCED. Despite wanting to warn her family of the danger after Witnessing the results of the virus first hand, she had a duty to serve her country and obeidently restrained herself.
Eventually the military guarding the zone showed signs of being infected, and her team of agents separated as debates divided the squad. By now, the media had caught onto the situation and upon arriving back home, her mother and brother were nowhere to be seen.

Present Suriving the last three years wouldn't surprise many. the skills she gained as an agent helped to fend off any raiders or infected that came after her, and her fitness levels weren't top of the class when it came to her fellow trainees but were far better than your average citizen. When it came to an area she had little expertise in, she was sharp enough to turn to the old fashioned methods of reading it up in a book and patch up her knowledge. She spent some time helping out small groups of survivors she came across in her travels, but never stayed for an extended period of time. She's now a wanderer, freely exploring the ruins left behind from the chaos and hoping that she will live to the day where a cure may be found.
