During one snowy night, walking in a covered path of snow with cuts and bruises, dripping in blood, dragging her feet and not aware of her surroundings, Naeun passed out on the steps of the hospital only to find herself awake in hospital bed not remembering anything about her past, only her name and birthday. The doctor asked who Naeun’s parents were and she could only say that her name and her birthday is on February 10th, 1994. She explained that she was walking to the hospital to ask for help. She didn’t remember why but she needed help. She looked up at the calendar and saw that today was her birthday. The doctor could only frown at the seven-year-old girl as he walked out of the ward. He asked the nurse to search up her records.

While looking at the records, the doctor realized there were two people rushed into the hospital during the night of the storm. They didn’t make it during the operation and passed away. The doctor pieced the information together as he walked back into the ward to see the girl stare in horror at the news screen. Naeun muttered to the doctor that those were her parents. She remembered that she was asking for help because her parents and her gotten into a car accident. The doctor could clearly see that Naeun remembered the reason why she was here but he couldn’t say that they were dead. Naeun glanced at the doctor’s expression and already knew the results. “They’re dead, aren’t they?” she asked. When he said no, Naeun already knew what he was trying to do. He was trying to save her from grieving over her lost parents. Thanks to the lie that the doctor gave her, she became distant and not trust world. After being discharged from the hospital, Naeun received a large envelope from her father’s close and trusted assistant. She opened the envelope and it stated her parents’ will and letter. The will states that she will inherit everything. She opened the letter and began to read.

“Naeun, our only daughter. If we were ever to die, you must not trust anyone. Forget everything we said about the world being a wonderful place. Treat it as your enemy. You’re not safe especially if you’re part of this family. Our assistant will be your caretaker of the company and the house. You must not tell anyone about this letter and burn it after being read. If you’re being targeted once again, remember this number -- --- --- ---- . If you were ever to contact the number, say Ace of Spades and Sylver. We love you, Naeun. We’re sorry for leaving you like this.”

After reading the letter, Naeun followed her parents’ instructions and trusted no one except her assistant. Still baffled by the whole situation, she herself threw the letter into the fireplace and watched it turn into ash. Ever since she turned seven, Naeun never went back to school and was strictly homeschool. She learned everything she needed as an heir yet something else sparked her interest. It was the art of coding. For hours, she locked herself in her room, discovering techniques and skills of hacking.

Years went by and Naeun finally was in her early teens, she became an expert in hacking and art. Thanks to many books, she installed a system in her home to detect an intruder. She was still cooped up in her house while her father’s assistant took care of the company for her. As she stayed at home, she would wonder about the letter that her parents had given to her but never attempted to call because she was never in danger. It still struck her mind that she never researched about Sylver or Ace of Spades until alarms started to off. She grabbed her tablet and saw a man with guns trying to hack into the system. The man deemed unsuccessful and the whole house went into lockdown. With her computers, she got footage of the man but one by one each camera lost connection. Like in suspenseful movies, Naeun started to feel danger. She heard explosions, knowing her front door was probably in pieces. They were probably after her next. Feeling threatened, she finally called the number that her father left her. The number picked up as she stated Ace of Spades for Sylver. The number said nothing else and hung up. The hope that her father gave her became nothing but ash. She felt that it was the end of her. Shutting down all the systems, she locked herself in her room and hid under the desk. Scared and felt stressed, knowing it was the end for her, she blacked out.

Back to square one once again, she awoke in a luxurious office. Dazed and confused, a man approached her and threw down pictures of her parents. He glanced at her and asked if they were her parents. She gave a nod then the man started to tell the story of her mother and father were not regular people but spies of the Sylver Organization. “…The duo was called Ace of Spades. Her father being called Ace and her mother was Spades…” She was confused but something had struck her. “Was my parents killed?” She could see the man didn’t know the answer to it. Instead he gave her an optimum. It was her joining the organization or die like her parents if she walked away from this place. Ruthless as it sounded, she heard him say another question that stuck with her.

“Will you join this place even taking the risk of death?”

Naeun looked at the man and saw flashbacks of her life. She was cooped up in a house, knowing but to hate the world. She was lied to many times. Wanting to know answers, she took upon the request. Thus, she began her journey as a sylver spy only wanting to know the answers of who killed her parents.

White represents purity and innocence. Black represent the absence of color, nothing can taint it or harm it. These colors are associated with children. They see the world only in black and white. Why do these colors matter? These colors represent the split persona Naeun has. No one can see the real her. She, herself, doesn’t know what she really is. All she knows is that she’s different when she’s an artist, an art teacher, and a spy, her real occupation.

As an owner of her own studio, she teaches children and students who are passionate about art as much as her, bring joy and smiles anyone who enters the classroom. When she has free time, she would draw and sent them to art galleries if she considers it like art. Like all artists, she always feels that she could improve and trashes her art as if it was nothing. These are rare cases of showing her emotionless state that she hides. She lives this imaginary life every day until a certain job comes along or her closest companion, Harley, delivers a message then her façade is replaced with her hidden, but real, personality.

Black Spade is her code name. A name that represents her true nature. Black being her true nature and Spade represents intelligence, both together means darkness and death. Another sign that she is nothing but a void of emotions. She lack of emotions show how strong that she is and nothing can phase her out of her missions. With the help of her companion and teammate, Harley, they are an unstoppable duo. Most of the time, she sits behind the screen but when desperate times call for desperate measures, she can fight back. Full equipped with both skills and knowledge, she won’t allow herself to fall. Yet there is one thing that can hurt her but find out what it is by actually meeting her if you survive.
