In his past life, Kyungsoo rarely laughed, rarely expressed what he wanted. He liked to take things at his own pace, so while his peers would kick soccer balls and hit up internet cafes, he would sit in solitude with a book in hand in the far corner of his room. His older brother was a doctor and had developed his dream early on in life, but whenever his parents asked Kyungsoo wanted to be, he would look out the window and fall silent. It wasn't that Kyungsoo didn't have a dream - he had always wanted to become a writer - he just didn't understand why everyone wanted to know so much about each other. He could care less about what others thought. It was a bother to engage in conversation with others. That was why he left for college in a city many miles away from home.

cause of death

He had a friend since childhood that he kept because he was the only person who never asked much from him. In the summer before the first semester of college though, his friend asks him to do so many things with him that eventually Kyungsoo starts ignoring him. Eventually, his friend would calm down and return to him. But months pass and there is no contact from his friend. He finds out later that he passed away. For the first time in his life Kyungsoo feels immense regret at not reaching out to people. He goes back to his hometown the summer of his 2nd year of college and visits the creek that his friend liked going to, because he plans to write a story about the regrets in his friendship. He tries to walk down towards the water when he loses footing on a mossy rock and slips, hitting his head on a boulder and passing out. He drowns and dies.

personality 

Not used to being extroverted and social but tries his best. He smiles a lot more than he used to because he enjoys the company in the meadows, but he'll have relapses where he'll think deeply about his friend and his past life and if he's changed at all from what he used to be. He holds people closely to his heart even if he doesn't seem like he cares for others, because he knows how easy it is to lose someone. He can often be seen reading a book, admiring beautiful, calming scenery, and laughing silently at the conversation between people he treasures.
