Growing up, Taehyung had always been quite the prankster and comedian. He always tried to make light of every situation, focusing on the good, and using comedy as a coping mechanism for any difficult situation in life. After finishing high school, he had a dream of becoming a stand up comedian, but that quickly failed. Spending night after night performing at clubs just never seemed to pay the bills since he'd moved out of his home to be away from his judemental and abusive family. In the midst of trying to make a life telling jokes, he met a girl and quickly got married. Soon after their marriage, his wife unexpectedly got pregnant, but his comedy wasn't enough to support a family—so he'd turned to crime and drugs to get by, and to also cope with his looming depression. After getting mixed up with different villains under the alias "Red Hood" throughout the city, he one day got in a bout with Batman and fell into a basin of chemicals while trying to escape, which ultimately resulted in the disfiguring of his face and discoloring of his skin and hair. These misfortunes, coupled with the sudden death of his wife and unborn child, resulted in a personality shift for Taehyung, completely twisting his mental state, letting him turn into an even greater supervillain named the Joker.

After Batman had him sent to Arkham Asylum, Taehyung eventually met a psychiatrist named Mina. He saw something special in her as they met more frequently and got to know each other. It was clear as day that Mina was enamored with him, and Taehyung used that fact to his advantage. His obsession with Batman gave him motivation to break out of the asylum with Mina's help, and she eventually decided to quit her job as a psychiatrist and become his partner in crime.

The Joker is incredibly intelligent. He is conniving, manipulative, and a compulsive liar. He will do whatever it takes to get what he wants, even if it means hurting people in the process.
