Yoongi's parents were two alphas, both of whom were clearly unhappy once he showed as a beta, seeing him the same as an omega. they forced him on every medication possible, apparently, in order to "keep him safe". while both parents were clearly dissatisfied, his mother seemed to start earlier on when he grew unbelievably slowly, always the shortest one of all his classmates. the first chance they got, both parents sent him to live with his grandmother, an omega, using the same excuse of keeping him safe. they said that they didn't know how to raise him and that his grandmother would make it so he didn't suffer. sure, he was then raised well, even learning self-defense -to his own surprise- from his apparently very able grandmother, but it was nothing without feeling the parental love he should have had.
