karou. oldest daughter of two haeyari farmers. her mother died while giving birth to her younger sister and since that moment it was her who had to take care of the family. she has never experienced the hardships of working on land, as she primarily had to take care of her father's and siblings' well being. she was taught how to cook, sew, embroider, but also how to read the stars or how to survive if lost in the dense timberlands of the kynara mountains. and despite her father's wish to join an academy where she could eventually piece on the agricultural craftsmanship, karou determined to become one of the aurai students.
