Kim Dahyun came from an average family with no siblings that grew up with her. Her mother maintained a flower shop while her father owned autobody shop down the street, it was how they met so early in life. But it seemed like they weren't meant to be together in this life because they died in a plane crash while on a trip to renew their vows. This occured a year ago, leaving her with the ownership of two small businesses but she was wise enough to leave the shops in the care of more experienced people. At the time she wasn't ready to stay in a house or in a town that only made her remember her family, so she moved to the city instead.

Dahyun began her life all over again, living in the city and in an apartment that she reluctantly bought at the time. She continued her studies on her own, learning what she could from books and the knowledge that seemed endless from Merlin. However, she had to survive and pay her bills leading her to work in a flower shop that was nearby. It was a nice place to work at but it wasn't her original intention to do so, the old woman who owned that shop and needed the help was what persuaded her. The shop itself struggled occasionally leading her to a night job as a bartender and it was with this job that she rediscovered her passion for cars.

Dahyun had the cars her father left her, they were the ones that she helped fix with her father. However, she only used the ones she herself worked on and was too worried of damaging the others. An extremely improved Mercedes, was her pride and joy as a racer while she refused to race with her real name or with her real identity. She always made sure to wear a mask and shift both her eyecolor and hair color to give her some anonymity. Either way, she felt closer to her father since she remembered the stories of when he raced.

Dahyun's parents always took turns to look after her, sometimes she would take care of flowers and on other occasions she would get her hands dirty with oil. She was taught in both shops and put to work as she grew up into her teens. When Dahyun was a child she could do small things, shift her eye color or skin tone, her parents always though nothing about it. They were relieved when she grew out of her pretend "stories" of a man named Merlin and having magical powers. Dahyun simply kept those facts to herself after realizing the truth behind her past life and the growing dangers that they could bring.

Dahyun had known about her past life for as long as she can remember and knows all of the challenges that Merlin has been through. She has seen what trust and love can do to a person and in Merlin's case, caused his death.  However, the friendships and the faith that others had in Merlin, along with Merlin's own willingness to help others made Dahyun believe that humanity wasn't all bad.

The growing recollection of Dahyun's past life had been accumulating ever since she was a child, leading up to decent amount of his life and all of his knowledge already stuck in her head. The growing amount of knowledge had led her to begin to gain his powers with extremely minimal shapeshifting skills (eye color, some hair color, facial features, etc.) and basic magic. She could feel the magic inside her along with the urge to use it but she needed more practice, too afraid of the dangers they can pose. Instead she grew into the habit of channeling that magic into the plants she took care of, it released the energy growing inside of her and helped the plants at the same time.

Dahyun likes to spend time on her own but in cases like bartending, she was willing to become friendlier and flirting occasionally. She was kind to the people around her but knew better than to trust everyone she met, the betrayal she saw through Merlin's eyes was more than enough for her. Now, she had a realistic and cautious mentality that made her distant from others and limited her relationships. Like Merlin, Dahyun became helpful and kind while striving to learn and do more without needing others to help her.
