Chanyeol's family was nothing short to becoming ones hell. Being born as an Airbender's wasn't something uncommon in the village chanyeol grew up in. His family had left the Airbender community long ago when the temples were still active. They did not believe in old traditions and much like the past fire benders believed they were the strongest, purest benders. Did spot on the weak. Killed the benders who were born, child or not. Only the strong were able to thrive in this cult. Chanyeol had been the mistake his family made. The stain that just wouldn't come out of the sheet. No matter how many times his mother tried to poison him, Chanyeol survived. He had the will to live and secret healer in his mix. As Chanyeol grew he was kept a room so dark that the air ran from it. The boy, even at a young age, showed signs of being a powerful bender. Toying with the stale air around him. Carrying the voices from the outside into his room to bounce off the walls. His parents wouldn't allow him to overpass they're first born, his older brother Kert. They broke his fingers one by one, sprained his ankles so he couldn't perform the proper movements. His life was his own personal hell but yet he still held a smile through it all. Every time his mother broke his fingers one by one, he would just smile. Believing they were keeping him from a certain doom. That was until his great-grandfather, old in age but so young in heart took him out of that small room and into the light of day. He showed him what it was like the breath of the fresh air and feel the coolness of the air as it passed between his fingers. His grandfather believed in the old ways of life. Not this modern crap but the olden days when the roofs were straw or clay. When the temples were still in use and just walk-through museums. He taught him the beautifulness this world had to offer, what his element had to offer. He taught him air bending... not the new-age but old school. He taught him the cruelty it held but also the beauty that it is held. He taught him how to be cruel and sick but yet to be kind and beautiful.

Despite his harsh beginning Chanyeol still holds his smile up strong. He still finds the smallest joys in life easily. If you want to know what Chanyeol is like, I'd recommend talking to him. If you've watching Ouran Host Club, Tamaki is the spitting image of chanyeol. Chanyeol is as loyal as they come, goofy and loud as one can ever get. The cheesest of cheesy. He's always confused and lost. Always opening his mouth at the wrong time and always saying the wrong things. He's a softy that tries to be a toughy.
