Born in a well-off family with apathetic parents, Jongin spent a lot of his time as a child by himself. He ate his meals via some money along with a note on the table instructing him to order something to eat or re-heating leftovers left by the housekeeper. "My father was/is a workaholic with most of his time consumed by his business or attending client's parties with his beautiful trophy wife by his side. My socialite mother never actually cared about me, all she cared and nagged about were her clothes, shoes or makeup. Often I wondered if I was an mistake from the factory or conceived willingly just because father needed an heir to his aircraft company."
During his adolescence, Jongin became friends with a man in the neighborhood,Yonghwa, after breaking his window with a baseball.At first, the two would enjoy each others company, sitting quietly while Yonghwa worked and Jongin read. Jongin picked up on strange things the man did, such as obsessively disinfecting his belongings. Eventually, Jongin became aware that his new friend was suffering from mysophobia, a form of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD). However when Yonghwa expressed interest in interacting with other people outside, Jongin ended up making a move on Yonghwa, who quickly denied him, vanishing soon after.Jongin however, became determined to become a psychologist and "cure" others with mental illnesses. Jongin began to understand how much his actions had affected Yonghwa while he was there and blames himself for Nishigaki's disappearance. He vowed to help people like Yonghwa soon after and studies to become a clinical psychologist. His first patient had been his adoptive younger brother, Jaewan suffering from intellectual disability.

Kim Jongin, more commonly benamed as Doctor Kai is a complex man concealed behind his stoic facade. He is usually reserved and always has a neutral expression but there after a few splur of anger or rare smiles. He usually counsels children and happens to get along with them and their mothers quite well. Occasionally, his tongue slips into 'straightforward speech' meant for children such as praising whilst talking to adults. He expertly hides his darker side. In actuality, Jongin is a sadist and tends to get jealous easily. He indulges in ual escapades but can control his baser desires well.
Kai is unaware of his exceedingly good looks and tends to get slightly flustered when COMPLIMENTed. He is a bookworm through and through. He overprotective of his younger brother whom he loves dearly. He also adores animals and owns Three dogs to keep him company. He met his true love,dancing, at the age of 7 after his mother dragged him to attend a ballet lesson. He still dances during his free time.
