Hyuna was born in NYC to an actress mother and veterinarian father on June 6, 1992. When she was four, her family moved to Japan for a show until it was canceled four years later. Then they moved to Hong Kong for another show her mother was in as well as her father's mandatory volunteer work for his job. When she was 13, they moved back to NYC where Hyuna and her mother worked together as models until her parents died in a burglary gone wrong a year later. Hyuna was there too but survived, though she now has a scar on her hip from the bullet that killed her father yet grazed her. Due to the trauma of seeing her parents killed in front of her, Hyuna moved to Busan to live with her maternal grandmother, maternal uncle and his wife. It was there that she discovered her love for the arts. She took up many odd jobs to pay for lessons and became very well known in the underground dance scene, even joining a dance crew called Da OutKasts. She also worked as a background dancer and cafe singer until being scouted by YG and JYP. She trained with YG for 6 months before transferring to JYP where she would later debut in the Wonder Girls as their maknae at the tender age of 15. Her uncle and his wife weren't supportive but her grandmother was and continued to support Hyuna until she passed away two years ago. Hyuna was replaced although official reports say she left for health reasons. Hyuna then went back into the underground scene despite her fans awaiting her return. 2013, she debuted in a girl group called Mania as their lead vocalist, main rapper, visual and leader despite not being the oldest. However, the company went bankrupt shortly after debut due to the CEO gambling the money away and then taking off. The group was quickly disbanded and their contracts terminated without discussion or payment. Hyuna thought of giving up, but wanted to make her parents and grandmother proud of her. So she auditioned for a company called Starlight Entertainment where she debut as a member of the group 5tars as well as it's 4 member subunit S4U and the project group Starlight Girls. Everything was going great, she loved her members and had even found the love of her life. Her company were just embarking on a World Tour when the CEO suddenly resigned and left them. Stranded in Japan, Hyuna tried staying with her uncle only to find out from his wife that he had passed away. Having no real family left, she went back to Korea and stayed in her apartment for months, wondering if it was worth it to keep going. But then she realized that she had been doing this for way too long, she loved it way too much, to give up on it now. With her newfound determination, she auditioned for companies but was continiously rejected because they felt she was "too old" despite her reputation as a sunbae artist. However, when she auditioned for Urban Entertainment, much to her surprise the CEO was an old friend of hers and luckily she was also accepted. Now she's working as a solo artist and although she misses her members, she knows that they are happy. She recently reunited with her former member Jisoo aka Eve who is now a member of the girl group Pulse. Her heart has been broken by another, someone she called the love of her life and thought she would spend forever with. Alas, all good things must come to an end for he slowly stopped talking to her before just leaving her altogether. She fears love now.

Hyuna is very outgoing and friendly, between NYC and Busan, her way of speaking can be a bit rough, although she does speak in both the Seoul and Busan dialect. She's a perfectionist and is known for staying up for hours practicing late into the night and morning to perfect a routine or song. So much so that she's lost her voice on more than one occasion and took up rapping to save her voice or else she fears she wouldn't be able to sing anymore. She's a bit of a tomboy but also likes to dress up (yes,she knows it's weird). She can also be very stubborn and kind of violent. She also has a motherly instinct that can take over at random times. However, she's a very loyal person and also looks out for and takes care of her friends and those she loves and cares about. After having her heartbroken, she's become colder and more reserved. She's slowly trying to break out of it though.
