∙∙∙ some of my artwork
∙∙∙ the past
a shot in the dark. cries and screams. tears laced with shouts. everything happened so quickly, hyunjun hardly had a chance to react. he was on the floor, bleeding. the room was spinning around him, voices all became muddled, distant. and then he fell into a deep sleep, deeper than he had ever experienced before.
two weeks later, he woke up in a hospital bed. an iv was attached to his arm, the lights were all too bright, and it was far too quiet. the faint beeping of the heart monitor was all that told him that he had any sort of hearing left. his body felt stiff, as if it hadnt been used in such a long time. when he tried to move, pain shot along his spine, and a cry of pain tore from his lips. he began to fade, the pain too much, just as nurses came rushing into the room.
slowly, he began to heal. three bullet wounds to his middle, broken ribs, and a forever damaged left side of his face. he could hardly hear from his left ear, and his eyesight had gone bad from that night.
all he wanted to do was protect his sister. and now she was gone.
he had been there when the kidnapper attacked. he had tried to defend her. but what was he, to someone strong and built? when he tried to snap a picture of the intruder, but his camera was smacked from his hand, shattering into pieces on the floor. and then the gun came out. with his sister in hand, the man shot hyunjun three times and watched as he fell to the ground. hyunjun, unable to do anything but gasp in pain, watched as a leather soled shoe came down hard on his face.
as he faded, the screams of his sister crying for help were embedded in his mind, even as they began to fade.
from that moment on, he vowed he would find his sister again.

dedicates it to my ducky who holds the key to my heart and makes me soft and super duper happy. it's difficult to explain, but-- i love you. i will do everything in my power to protect you and make you happy.
