OOC I'm GMT-5 and I'm pretty slow at replies ngl. I was with RPR since the beginning but had left for a long time, only returning now cause I wanted to experience roleplaying again! I do mostly third POV since I find first to be a bit awkward but I can still do it for walls and pms. I do mirror as best as I can but I'm not the best at novellas,,,I'm fine with all genres as well, angst, , drama, maybe fluff (my character isn't the best with fluff), etc. If you have any particular plot or genre you wanna do, don't hesitate! I'm open to all! I don't mind starting if I'm feelin' the plot.

Background Life is never easy at the bottom of the food chain. It was a matter of eat or be eaten, kill or be killed, and it was all Byulyi knew growing up from a low class family. Born to a e of a town brothel and an unknown male, she has seen countless amounts of violence, ual assault, the lowest of the low of scrabbling for the crumbs that were dropped onto the ground by passing carriages. Her own fingers always itching to grab forward along with the other kids, but was always held back by her mother. Everyone in the town was on the same level, all barely floating above the surface but it was never what Byulyi's mother wanted for her. Knowing how she was raised herself, she had not wanted the same for her daughter despite having no choice but to sell her body to get the bare necessities. She did everything she could for her daughter, including stealing from her richer patrons when they knocked out drunk. Week after week, she would bring home bread and butter for them to feast. Occasionally, bringing home sweets like jam or pastries from the bakeries they could never have afforded with their money. But it all came to an end too soon when Byulyi's mother was caught by one of her clients. And at the age of 12, she stopped tasting sweetness.

She was soon picked up by the butcher's shop as an apprentice as she would often be seen peering hungrily through the windows day by day. 

TLDR Cause I'm sleepy taboo against women working in day jobs, they were expected to be housewives and in the worst case, brothels. So Byulyi ended up cutting her hair so for her teen years and lived under the guidance of the butcher as Yi, an far distance nephew of his whenever someone asked.

Years passes and the town is invaded by pirates. They capture young men who are able bodied and could work for them, including Byulyi despite being a female. Due to her clothes and short hair, they do not find out until months later and she is almost but was saved by the ranked officials. She was given three choices: 1) to continue to work under them and prove her worth, to withstand being constantly stared and leered at by the crew mates, 2) dropped at the next port with a small pouch of gold to go on without any guidance or information about the area, 3) to die right there and at that moment for lying about her gender.

Byulyi chose one.

Her one true reason for living? To find the client who killed her mother, and to kill him.

Personality Growing up as she did, Byulyi never believed in fairy tales or anything that had a happy ending. Her rough manners and potty mouth has landed her in many situations in which she had to be dragged away from to prevent an outbreak of a scene. Furthermore, her bash attitude intertwined with the flirtatious nature of pirates has led to countless stories across the towns, of a forked tongue lady sailing with the infamous pirates. Of course, that part of Byulyi was from being raised in the bad side of town and having to had joined a ship for so many years. Flirtatious or not, she has long numbed herself to the concept of love, figuring that there was no such thing after what happened during her childhood. She used her appearance to her advantage at any chance she got. Being that she was forced to help herself back when her mother was still living, she had learned how to be deceitful and lie to get the odds in her favor. She can be very manipulative in order to achieve her goals, doing whatever it takes to ensure that it happens. She has little empathy which is why being the ship's surgeon was no hard job when others would wince and hurl at the sight of blood. Byulyi is much easier on women then on men, though being one, she understands how shewd they can be.

Trivia She has a scar that runs from her left collarbone down to the top of her right from a struggle against the men on board. Never wears anything that reveals it. Crossdresses from time to time to get information or to travel. Her saying is that "happiness can only be bought with money".
