• yanan is chinese and was raised in the great city shanghai, china until he decided to move and start afresh in the countryside where his grandparents live.
• originally when he first came to visit he was going through some trouble back home, he was 17 when he first visited and had a really hard time coping with a broken heart, which lead him to suffering through a strong depression. he had closed himself in his room for weeks during the start of the summer holiday, and his parents who were worried sick, watching their son each day in such a state and getting worse by the day, had decided and arranged a trip for yanan, to the countryside where yanan's grandparents live, hoping a holiday and change of scenery would be able to help their son if just a little.
• yanan really came to love the place, actually. he fell in love with so many things about it, from the beautiful scenery to the wide open sky shining brightly with the stars at night, the peacefulness and fresh air a rather simple life if he were to compare it to how he'd grown up and was use to, in the bustling and bright city but somehow he had found it everything he had ever wanted. he returned to china only to finish his education and soon flew back to the countryside where he became a baker, one thing which he was surprisingly really good at, and hadn't known about until he tried.~
