chapter 1: fractures

troye lived in broken fragments of a happy family – a depressed, medication-dependent mother, an alcoholic, impulsive father, and an aged, blind, deaf dog. once, his family was normal. once, he was happy with the hand he'd been dealt. but over the years, between all the beatings, verbal fights, and relocations, it became harder and harder for troye to find solace.

troye's mother was his only friend for most of his life. his father couldn't keep a job because of his broken past and inability to keep his himself away from trouble, so his family was constantly moving, and oftentimes, troye didn't even get a chance to make the friends that he would very soon after leave behind. at the age of 12, troye discovered his magic ability. his mother wielded the gift as well, but as a child in a family who forbade it, her skills were very minimal. troye attended abra academy, spending his free time honing his skills, memorizing spells, and passing the knowledge to his mother along the way.

chapter 2: loss

at the age of 19, the worst of it came. it wasn't just a storm – everything else in his life was a storm. the biggest tragedy of his young life came quick, like a tornado, followed by a devastated hurricane, ending with the entire world crashing down on top of him, leaving him in the center, alone in the dark.

in a drunken stupor, his father murdered his mother in cold blood.

that very day, troye left, vowing to completely renounce his father and his side of the family. he legally changed his surname to his middle name, 'sivan,' making that the last step in completely putting his past behind him. with his mother gone, the only thing he took with him to remember her by was a locket necklace she kept in a jewelry box on her dresser – troye wears it every day, insisting that his mother will always be by his side so long as he is wearing it.

troye has had time to come to terms with the tragedy in his life, and long ago he vowed to himself that he wasn't going to lose who he was to the past. He is very outgoing and has the gift of making friends easily. when he has his mind set on something, stops at nothing until he accomplishes it. he is a loyal friend, he loves quick, and he loves hard.
