Kim Jonghyun. At first glance, he’s a peaceful, sweet and bright boy. When you go into Kim Jonghyun’s inner self.. that’s when you realize he’s the opposite. The true Kim Jonghyun is one filled with self-doubt, the type of person to take every small thing out on himself. His mind bubbles with worries, and he’s always on alert.
Jonghyun’s a perfectionist- not just with his work, but with everything. He just wants everything to go perfectly and for him to feel fine. Is it really that hard?
This isn’t to say that Jonghyun’s outer self is a lie. It’s just.. complicated.
He’s sweet- because he’s seen how other people talked about him and wanted to be the opposite. He’s bright- because he knows that showing his true self and being a debby downer wouldn’t be appreciated.
He’s shy- because he genuinely doesn’t agree with flattering comments, and he barely hears them. He can be clueless- because he’s been worrying too much and his mind is just too burnt out to process anything correctly.
His cluelessness is also because of his little social interactions- he isn’t great at reading in between the lines. Not to say that he’s dumb, though.
he can’t easily jump in due to his nerves, so he’d rather just ask about what was going on- it’s easier and doesn’t make him feel like he’s going to die a little while sending a 5 word message.
He’s not the type to disagree with people- because he’d rather go along with everything and hopefully gain their affection.
At this point, Jonghyun only has 2 wants. To be able to enjoy dance like always, and to be loved. The first one has been accomplished for a long while, but the second.. Not yet. He doubts it’ll ever be fulfilled, but a boy can hope, can’t he?
sometimes, Jonghyun has his bad days where he just wants to give up. Give up on socializing, give up on his dreams- why did he have to suffer so much for those simple things? It couldn’t just come easily to him,
it felt suffocating and falling in love along with just regularly talking makes the boy feel powerless over his own future.
Because Jonghyun knew it. Knew that he’d always be like a cute friend or “little brother” to the people he loves.
Perhaps he should put on a true mask and flip to the opposite of how he was now. Would people love him that way? That’s what he wonders, but he’s not a great actor and he gets worried and nervous too easily to act all.. cocky. but maybe he could try it out one day, because the greed in his mind wanted that love soon. he was becoming too greedy nowadays..
