bae joohyun or more known as doctor bae in the penitentiary was born with a silver spoon in to a former cop turned politician and his house wife. growing up, joohyun had always strived to be the utmost perfect daughter, very often becoming gravely depressed, driving her to discretly slitting her wrists, as she never got to do the things she liked. it was as if little miss bae was a closeted tomboy. who knew that existed, huh? from practicing ballet to going on blind dates and even appearing on tv smiling next to her father, she has done it all to please him. the man who helped bore her, despite loving her, was quite ill tempered and selfish. if things did not go his way and boosted his support ratings, both joohyun and her mother would take the blows. however, her mother was blinded by this foolish chemical reaction called love. she, out of everyone, was clouded with stockholme syndrome and supported him most. it made the girl sick to the her stomach to see this. as the bitter feeling brewed and grew slowly inside of her, the nations most beloved angel had turned into a comeplete trainwreck as she began to involve herself into many drug and ion scandals. of course, joohyun was never a saint, but under no circumstances were she to ever allow herself to stoop that low and sell her body, but the media always had to make her secret meetings with her lovers out to more than what it really was. soon and unbeknownst to joohyun, it was reported that she would be admitted into rehabilitation. this prompted her to pack her bags and run away with her low life lover boy. as closed minded as her father may be, he was not stupid. he quickly found her in the slums of seoul and warned her of the hardships that were to come if she were to not return. like father like daughter, she stubbornly refused. just like that, her only sources of money was shut down and her boyfriend was put into jail for possession. he, now her ex, is serving his 10 year sentence in the same facility she works in til this current day. she then returned in the hopes that her father would stop causing havoc to those she held dear to her heart in the outside world. much to her father's satisfaction, she entered college and majored in medicine. but nonetheless, there is always a twist with joohyun when it came to pleasing her father. she now works as a prison doctor despite her father's protests.

joohyun is rather gentle and soft-spoken. she's very motherly towards all she encounters and as a result, she is not much terrified of the environment she currently stands in and the people it holds. she believes that all people of all differences, especially who the society calls "psychos", can sense terror and dislike from others and therefore would be more defensive and aggressive. she treats all equally with respect. however, she is very knowledgeable, and can be very hard headed and stubborn with what she believes in. she gets flustered quite easily and is very much clumsy. she loves to read to the prisoners and would spend her free time helping the prison's government provided educators tutoring the inmates. however, because of her parents' strict upbringing, she was never able to learn more than basic self defense moves as anything physical was not ladylike. as you may have guessed, she is a mild feminist.

puppy love. who is he? he's a schizophrenic serial killer, presumely still on the loose and just on break by the public.unfortunately he is actually admitted into the hospital due to a very much viral public mental breakdown. however, he is just admitted in the facility due to a small petty crime and was found to be mentally ill. he is actually joohyun's ex lover and was kept away from her by her father as he had always been able to sense the boy's 'weirdness'.

playing dumb. joohyun often volunteers after hours to help tutor inmates. one day she is surprisingly requested by another. he is actually a very smart man who needs no tutoring. however, while observing her reading to his fellow inmates, he couldn't help but wonder why a beautiful girl as she could smile so brightly next to such dangerous idiots. perhaps did she have a death wish? to find out her true intentions, he surprises everybody by requesting for her and acting dumb on purpose.

savior. working in a prison aiding to ill or injured inmates does not mean you are safe. often times inmates would fake illnesses to set eyes on the beautiful joohyun. one of those inmates became so infactuated with her that he did just so. when she came close to check up on him, he promptly switched their positions, pinning her down onto the stretcher. he begins unbuckling his belt as joohyun cries and begs for mercy. she closes her eyes tightly, mascara stained tears streaming down her porcelain skin, bracing herself for whats to come before she hears a loud clang. a mysterious patient had seen the commotion while coming back from escorting his work base mate into the waiting room. he had crept in rather steathily, grabbing a metal pantry, before tapping the obviously bigger man and hitting him, knocking him out in the process. still shaken. she rushes up only to hide behind him and reach over her desk to call guards. he is then escorted into his cell and is commended for his heroic acts. a few days later, she calls him in herself, to thank him personally.
