"he's a pretty boy, isn't he?"

han got used to these comments after he turned 18. some wouldn't even have the courtesy to say that he was a boy. that he was a he. 

han was born as a name that needn't be said, and he was born as a she. a beautiful girl with long, dark hair, and soft doe eyes. he always got compliments as a young girl, telling him that he would be a beautiful woman when he grew up. but there was always something that rested uneasily in his stomach about that. a woman? eternally caught with long hair and skirts? perfume and bras? 

"you'll grow out of it. every woman has this phase."

he rebelled against himself, and dated a man. a man without a name that needs to be said, and a man that didn't deserve the uality wavering han, the gender wavering han, and the han that didn't want anything from the man. it was a ty move, he knew that, but he needed to make sure that when he looked at other women that it was just envy, that he wanted to look like they looked. but it wasn't. it was adoration, it was attraction. he he was attracted to women. 

after han confessed to his boyfriend, and broke up with him, everyone knew. but han saw it coming. the man was nice, but he couldn't keep his mouth shut. it wasn't like han told him to keep quiet.

"so you're like, a dude without a ?"

han got told that he was a lesbo, that he was trash. but it was fine. he knew it was going to happen, and so he let it. 

the rest of his identity could be kept secret. 

but he couldn't stop thinking how much easier it would be, if he was a boy, and he liked girls. he always admired boys in the way he was supposed to admire girls, according to society. it was then, when he realized that he wasn't a girl. he wasn't a she. he was a man. a man who loved women. 

"but you'll be too pretty of a boy."

once han turned 18, he cut off his hair, and went to the doctors. they put him on testosterone and scheduled an appointment for a change operation. he was doing it, finally, he was going to be who he truly was. 

han legally changed his name to lu han, and didn't let the world bring him down. 

once the operation was over and he recovered, han decided he would join the military. no one would know who he was there, and if he put up a front, he could always have been lu han, the man. 

while in the military, he was constantly teased to be "pretty boy" or "cute boy". some soldiers asked how old he actually was, because he looked way too young to be in the military. han brushed them off, and continued to be the man he was. 

"but you're such a pretty girl!"

to this day, han still gets bullied. han still gets rude comments and gets called "she" or by his old name. 

to this day, han keeps his head high.
