Seunghyun doesn't know when his earth-bending abilities began appearing. He can vaguely remember that when he was a young child, he enjoyed going outside and playing alone in his mother's flower garden. The flowers would grow like crazy in his delightful, cheery presence. He's convinced that he was born with them. However, when his mother died when he was 8, he found himself losing touch with nature as he lost his previously-happy self because of her death. Being raised without knowing his father, he was left with in the care of his aunt, who poorly raised and guided him. Seunghyun often found himself getting into trouble, as he was never disciplined, and even got involved in a gang and worse of all, using his earth abilities for bad. During those days, he went under the name of TOP, and even though he didn't commit crimes, he was quiet and knew a lot; it was his role in the gang to know everything. He soon changed when he figured out the hard way that it wasn't the proper way of living for him, when he was beated up then kicked out for not obeying the gang leader and being 'queer', as they called it. He's always believed that love had no gender, but he supposed that it didn't matter when it came to ignorance. He put up a great struggle to put his life back of track, but was thankful that he realized it now rather than sooner.

Nature had always been there for him, even when he was at his lowest. He welcomes it and all of its abilities with open arms, and hopes to master his skills and even find someone who will accept him for who he is.
