Description
depression is the fruit of desperation and jeonghan was that pathetic soul eating this said fruit every single moment of his life until 'he' came. he came like a storm, wiping out all the past pain, and the aftermath was all a mess but nevertheless warm and clear. starting again from the bottom, little by little he climbed, and rose to the skies, yet another storm plunged in not long after, and left desperation crawling at the throat.
Jeonghan was pathetic. nobody said it to his face but it was really not a secret in the town. he was the grandson of previous Chief and like his father he was expected to be a leader but fate pulled a sick joke and he turned out a beta (though better than an omega). neither possessing strength nor beauty, his value was that of a redundant wild flower growing on the hedges. everyday he would see the disappointment in his families' eye. "why?" a bitter question he never could answer. he cursed himself everyday, wondering should he die and be free yet he was a coward --- he loved life too much to die in vain.
to save face, his family put him up for doing chores of the new alpha which jeonghan begrudgingly accepted-- who would want to serve a jerk? (His family, chiefly the alphas of the family, had treated him so disdainfully that he came to hate the alphas and started musing may be the reason he wasn't an alpha because he's not jerk.) even so, he went and did his job. it was over three months that he finally met the man leading the people. a sour memory but later it has turned into a sweet one. they clashed. Jeonghan was quite an egoist and his status gave the alphas less power over his sensibilities. they fought like cats and dogs yet han couldn't deny his progress with the help of the alpha. each has their own way, he finally got the gist of it. their fights had subsided and often small banterings, but nothing else that big. It wasn't until the day of mating ritual came that jeonghan realized he had fallen for the head. weeks prior, he kept to himself, avoiding, and secluding himself in the forest. And the surprise came the day after the ritual. the head was still single, spouting rumors within few hours. he found jeonghan, slapped some sense into him, not so romantically confessed to han, and han was swept of his feet. though they were mutually in love, they kept their relationship a secret for the sake of the pack and all that which now whenever jeonghan thinks of he feels like stabbing himself.
his dream was shattrered a year later as the news of the leader's death reached by the morning. he lost hope. he was back to his pathetic self but after a week's mourning in silence, he vowed to avenge his love's killer.
And on this new journey for god knows why, he constantly bumped with the new lone leader. the little brother of his love. that little brother is shrouded in mystery, intangible, and eccentric. so hard to understand, jeonghan felt "why?" so strongly.
