nephilim are the appointed warrioirs on earth of the angel, raziel. typically they fight for justice. They were supposed to keep the supernatural world in check but they brought destruction on themselves for getting too ambitious and the law of nephilim became broken and corrupt. nephilim became conceited and power hungry and brought shame to their name for mistreatment of other supernatural beings and neglect of humans. matthew daddario is not under the law of "Shadowhunters" as they call themselves. he grew up living a very mundane life. he was an only child to a single mother who hid his true being away from him. she was once a member of the council but resigned and became exhiled from the nephilim world, stripped of her runes, and sentenced to life as a mundane woman, all while pregnant. she vowed to never introduce her child to the nephilim world and it's destructive being and she raised matt like a normal kid until he found out on his own at the age of 16. 

matthew was always studious and too curious for his own good. he was a socially awkward boy though and he never liked public school because it was "boring and snooze-inducing" as he put it. he was always tough and never let anyone pick on him though. somehow, he was stronger and more athletic than the others and he won many awards for physical and mental ability. but it was all too easy. like he wasn't meant to be there. And then he was in high school and he really began to think about why he was so different but still the same. he questioned his mother every now and then but she would always laugh him off and change the subject. and then one day he overheard a call she was having in the kitchen about hidden books and broken hearts. being the curious kid that he was, he investigated later that day, going though his mother's things while she worked. he found a scrapbook in the bottom of her closet that kept records of his birth but it wasn't like a regular certificate. it was ceremonial papers. and with those documents, he learned the full truth about himself. Everything except for who his father was. Of course, this ended in him getting caught, them arguing, and him leaving but that's details for another time.

matt had a close friend from elementary school that he often stayed the night with named charles. they went everywhere together, did everything together and this was the only person in the world he could trust at this point in his life. so he ran away from home and stayed with him. some things had to be discussed between the parents but it worked itself out. at the age of just 17, he lived and still does live with charles. (only now, part time). they found themselves doing a lot of research on matt's newly found life. and sometimes, curiosity really does kill the cat. it wasn't like they were looking for trouble but they looked for answers in the wrong place and they were brutally attacked by a demon from edom. this demon brought charles to the brink of death but before it could take his life, matt made a contract with it. he gave over his soul to the demon in exchange for charles' life. but the demon wanted to have a little fun so instead, it bonded their souls together so that if one were to be killed, part of the other would die with it. they escaped narrowly but now they lived a shared life. they felt each other's pain, and felt all intense emotions. they had to learn to become strong together but first they needed to figure out how the hell they got into this mess in the first place. they had to learn everything they could about the supernatural world and quick.

Secrets his living situation.  he occasionally smokes weed. he get annoyed easily but no one would ever know. he has nightmares more often than not.

— he knows shadowhunters but he isn't one cause their system is broken.

dating

i've gone through a lot more than people need to know with you and our relationship has been rocky but we somehow get through all the rough times and always end up stronger because of them. i appreciate having someone as caring and loving as you in my life. I've made dumb decisions before but i don't believe that falling for you is one of them. and if it is then i'm a complete fool and i don't mind. thank you for showing me what love feels like and bringing me happiness in areas of my life i didn't think it would ever exist. now i get to grow with you and challenge myself to be a better person for you. you deserve all that i can give and more and i don't want you to let anyone tell you otherwise because you're perfect. and you don't ever have to feel alone because you have jessabelle and i now. i hope that you can put your trust in me and let me fight by your side til the end of our journey.

THREE. i'm a fan of cassandra clare books. my characters get inspo from her works rather t.v. shows or songs. 

FOUR. Dthis character is probably the one I struggled with the most. i couldn't keep him in character because i get inmy feelings. i'm working on it--
