assistant dean
at a young age, yamamoto sayaka's parents left her in japan at a young age, as they moved around to gain things like knowledge and licenses that they could never receive in japan. it caused the girl to be raised by her grandparents, allowing her to hear how life was like before and truly appreciate that she even had what she currently did, although she never would appreciate her parents' absence. however, sayaka received so much love and support from her grandparents that she was determined to take advantage of what they didn't have, and make them proud. it was why she tried her best in school, graduating from her elementary school with all a's. but then, her parents decided to finally pick up the girl and have her live with them again- but not in japan, instead in korea as her mom had given birth to her younger sibling while living in the country. suddenly having to leave her grandparents who felt more like her actual family, having a sibling she'd have to get used to, and having to live in a completely new country all shocked her. so she resorted to trying to find familiarity in the thing she excelled at back in japan.. studying. and like that, she learnt the language quickly due to her becoming engrossed in studying every subject that the korean curriculum offered. sayaka ended up discovering her passion in education at this time, although she would ignore it for a couple of years. although studying and all was great, she still felt a huge disconnect from the rest of her immediate family and the other students. so the girl decided that she would fit in with some crowd, somehow. that's how she ends up dabbling in illegal substances, as acting up finally brought her parents' attention to her instead of her brother, and it gave her some sort of social group at school. it's a part of her past that she regrets, and hopes nobody else does something as stupid as that. enough scolding had came and went, and it caused sayaka to realize that she needed to have the same mindset she had once had when living with her grandparents. she should be focusing on making the people around her happy and proud, not using cheap fixes to get their attention. that's how sayaka focused on her education again, and really realized that she wanted to pursue this in the future. she ends up becoming a teacher, and gained experience as one over many years. she even went to help spread education in places like developing countries and before she arrived back to her family in korea, and seeked out change for her career. if there is anything that is sayaka's strong suit, it's her practical knowledge. but her second strong suit is her knowledge in peopleㅡ whether it's how to appeal to them or how to try and deal with them, and how to work well with them. it's how she ends up getting the job as assistant dean at this school, signifying a new part in her career and life.
