Section oo1 : history / about
kim jongin is seoul's local coffee shop owner. the man has lived in the bustling capital city of south korea his entire life, and his father's hardware store (formerly named william's) in the middle of the town became his coffe shop after his father passed away. while his father was heavily involved in town events, jongin resisted all of them. although, he expresses animosity in the towards town events, it is evident that he cares for the town and never has huge ambitions to leave. this small-town feeling that he cherishes directly correlates to his failed relationship with his first-love.
he grew up with his father raising him alone after his mother left the two of them for a rich man who had promised to give her a life of luxury. jongin grew up watching his father suffer from the heartbreak caused by the lady thus, explains his unwavering dislike for such romantic relationships and commitments.
however, during his junior year of college, he met a lovely woman which he dated for years. she was a fun spirited, and she was able to let out another side of the man while they were in a relationship. unfortunately, her persona did not suit the small town life that jongin wanted. she wanted to leave the town for the exciting life she believed was waiting for her, and jongin did not want to leave the town he grew up with. in the end, she left him.
jongin was devastated. he vowed to himself that relationships were only meant to end so after the break-up, he never dated again and he settled himself with the company of flings and alcohol.
it took him almost a year to gather himself up and start from the bottom. it was when he decided to turn his dad's hardware store he inherited into a local coffee shop in the midst of the bustling city. the floor above the shop became his home and bits by bits he became where he is now.
