3. i'm actually a huge grammar nazi. i don't mind if it's little mistakes (i'm human too!) but please at least try to be literate and understandable.
4. only poke me for a reply if i haven't replied in 3+ days. i have a life outside of roleplaying, and feel free to poke me, as long as it's not incessant.
5. i prefer detailed first over third pov, if we're winging it i would prefer first, but if i'm really into a plot third would be preffered!
6. regardless of how uptight i sound right now, i'm a cool person, i promise! feel free to chat me up while we roleplay, or just for no reason at all!

background
Bae Suji WAS BORN THE YOUNGEST CHILD OF THREE. HER PARENTS WORKED RESPECTFUL JOBS: HER FATHER WAS A COMPUTER ENGINEER AND HER MOTHER WAS THE HEAD NEUROSURGEON OF HER HOSPITAL. when she was five, her family moved over to london, as her mother was pursuing her ph.d at oxford. over time, their family stayed there, having grown used to the environment.
SUJI GREW UP ALWAYS FEELING OVERSHADOWED BY HER OLDER TWIN SIBLINGS, WITH WHOM SHE HAD A LARGE AGE GAP OF SEVEN YEARS WITH. SETTING HIGH STANDARDS FOR ALL THEIR CHILDREN, SUJI'S PARENTS EXPECTED NOTHING BUT THE BEST. THIS WOULD PROVE DETRIMENTAL TO BOTH DOYEON AND HER TWO OLDER SIBLINGS; HER BROTHER WAS A SCIENCE PRODIGY AND EXCELLED IN ALL CORE SUBJECTS WHILE HER INQUISITIVE SISTER TOOK A LIKING TOWARD INVENTING. THE TWO OF THEM EVENTUALLY FOLLOWED IN THEIR PARENTS' FOOTSTEPS, BECOMING SCIENTISTS AND EXTRMELY SUCCESSFUL IN THE EYES OF THEIR PARENTS.
SUJI, HOWEVER, TOOK A DIFFERENT ROUTE.
SINCE SHE WAS YOUNG, SUJI WAS FLEXIBLE TO ALL SUBJECTS OF HER LIFE; SHE WAS NATURALLY GIFTED AT MANY THINGS, SCHOOL BEING ONE OF THEM. HER PARENTS, WHO WANTED THEIR DAUGHTER TO FIND HER OWN CALLING AS HER SIBLINGS HAD, ENROLLED HER IN A VARIETY OF DIFFERENT ACTIVITES, INCLUDING SPOORTS, SCHOOL CLUBS, AND AN UNIMAGINABLE AMOUNT OF EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITES. HOWEVER, SHE CLEARLY REMEMBERS TO THIS DAY, THE MOMENT WHEN SHE FOUND HER TRUE PASSION.
IT WAS THE FIRST TIME SHE HAD EVER SLIPPED HER FEET INTO BALLET SHOES. THE FRESH LEATHER, THE COMFORTABLE WAY IT MORPHED TO HER FEET, THE WAY THEY SLID ACROSS THE MARLEY FLOOR SO EASILY. SHE HAD FALLEN IN LOVE WITH DANCE; SHE HAD FALLEN FOR THE WAY SHE LOOKED IN THE DANCE STUDIO MIRROR. SHE HAD FALLEN FOR THE FEELING OF FLIGHT IN HER LEAPS AND JUMPS. SHE HAD FALLEN FOR THE SOUND OF HER OWN BREATHING FUSED WITH THE CHEERS OF THE AUDIENCE AFTER THE MUSIC FADED. UNTIL IT WAS TAKEN AWAY FROM HER.
SHE WAS ONLY SEVEN WHEN SHE STARTED. AND SIXTEEN WHEN SHE WAS FORCED TO LEAVE HER DANCE STUDIO. HER PARENTS WANTED HER TO FOCUS ON MORE IMPORTANT THINGS THAT WOULD GET HER SOMEWHERE IN LIFE: FOCUS ON HER STUDIES, ON HER SCHOOL CLUBS, ON ANYTHING BUT DANCING. THEY ARGUED FOR WEEKS AND WEEKS. WHILE SHE WANTED TO PURSUE DANCE AS A CAREER, HER PARENTS WANTED HER TO EMULATE HER SIBLINGS AND DO SOMETHING IN THE STEM SYSTEM.
HOWEVER, HER PARENTS WERE NOT UNREASONABLE PEOPLE. THEY LOVED HER, EVEN IF THEY DIDN'T AGREE WITH HER AMBITIONS, THEY WANTED HER TO BE HAPPY. SO THEY MADE A COMPROMISE. EVEN THOUGH SHE WAS PURSUING DANCE FOR MOST OF HER LIFE, SHE NEVER LOST FOCUS IN HER STUDIES AND WAS ONE OF THE TOP STUDENTS IN HER HIGH SCHOOL. SO, SUJI WAS ABLE TO BE ACCEPTED INTO UNIVERSITY. HER PARENTS WERE WILLING TO COMPROMISE: SHE WOULD SPEND ONE YEAR IN UNI, AND IF SHE DIDN'T WANT TO CONTINUE, THEY WOULD RECONSIDER HER CONTINUING HER DANCE SCHOOLING.
HOWEVER, AFTER A YEAR OF UNIVERSITY WAS COMPLETED, DOYEON WAS AT A LOSS. AFTER TAKING AN ALMOST THREE YEAR BREAK FROM BALLET, HER BODY WAS NO LONGER THE SAME: HER SPLITS WERE NOT AS STRAIGHT, HER TOES COULD NOT ARCH AS FAR AS BEFORE, HER STAMINA WAS GREATLY SHORTENED. HER FRIENDS WHO SHE HAD TRAINED WITH SINCE SHE WAS A CHILD IN LONDON HAD GROWN INTO FULL PRIMA BALLERINAS IN TRAINING, WHILE SHE WAS STUCK WITH REDUCED TECHNIQUE AND ONLY HER PASSION. SHE HAD NOWHERE TO GO, FOR SHE WOULD NOT BE GOOD ENOUGH TO GO PROFESSIONAL IN COMPARISON TO THE GIRLS WHO HAD TRAINED ENDLESSLY DURING SUJI'S BREAK AND NEVER WOULD SHE EVER GO BACK TO FOLLOWING HER PARENTS' MINDLESS DREAMS.
HOWEVER, HER SOLUTION WAS EASILY FOUND WHEN SHE SAW THAT THERE WERE OPEN AUDITIONS FOR AN ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY. MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, THIS WAS HER WAY OUT.
personality
SUJI is a very undescribable character: suzy was always known as the quiet fire, for she was someone who rarely acted up. growing up as a ballet dancer and the youngest child, she took on the delicate dancer image; she never disrespected her parents, she did good in school, she never showed anyone when she was bothered. because of that, she grew up always caring about how people saw her, as she didn't want anyone to perceive her as irresponsible, rude, or anything negative. HOWEVER, As she grew up and realized that some people would dislike her regardless of what she did, she decided to become and accept her full self. because of this, she invests greatly into her self-love and does things based on what makes her happy, not trying to cater to the wants of others.
being a competitive dancer, she was always very meticulous and detail oriented, which caused her to become a constant worrier. easily stressed by small measly details, it takes a lot to pull this hard worker from whatever she is doing.
on the other hand, one of the most redeeming qualities of suji is her passion; she throws herself freely into everything she does. from age seven to when she first began dancing to her first relationship at sixteen to trying her best to engage herself into psychology in college for her parents at nineteen, she always did everything with a full heart. with endless love for her friends and family, she always lives every day to the most. though some people may call her quiet or soft spoken at first, when there is a topic she is really passionate about (ask her about her views on feminism and abortion, and she'll go on forever), she is not afraid to tell her truth. because of this, SUJI believes she is a very loyal and true friend, who will always call you out on your bull no matter what.
plots
WHO ARE YOU, ANYWAY? ( MALE OR FEMALE TRAINEE (HIP-HOP DANCER) | genreS: DRAMA, RIVALRY | OPEN ): IT ALL STARTED WHEN SUji walked into the dance studio, and saw you. everyone knew that from 11pm-1am, the studio was her's; it was almost like an unspoken agreement between everyone. and to see you there, and unwilling to leave, she wouldn't take. suji had never had a short temper, but there's something about you that just rubs her the wrong way. you and her were from different dance backgrounds, and she couldn't stand to share her precious dance studio with you.
AN EYE FOR AN EYE ( MAle or female trainee (vocalist) / genres: friendship | open ): there were a few things suji was insecure about (she had always been skilled at many things so to have weaknesses were infuriating); singing was one of those things. what could she say? she was a dancer by heart after all, when did she ever worry about singing? it wasn't until she decided to become an idol that she had to face her insecurity. you were discussed through the company as one of the more talented and friendlier vocalists, so she seeks out your help. and in exchange for your help, she can help you too, not to fall on your face while "dancing," if that's what you could call your poor movement skills.
SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE ( MALE TRAINEE DANCER / gENRES: FRIENDSHIP, POSSIBLE ROMANCE | OPEN ): AFTER being abandoned by her friends at the club, suji finds herself at the bar, remembering why she hated clubbing in the first place. by a sudden gust of encouragement, she treads out onto the dance floor, finding herself face to face with you challenging her to dance battle. suji was never a club type of dancer, she was tendus and pirouettes were the club was twerking and other unholy things. a dance battle, a few drinks later, and a coincidiental friendship shows suji that you always pushed her comfort zone.

background: suji was born in korea, but her parents moved their family to london when she was 5. not wanting their children (suji being the youngest of three kids) to feel uncomfortable in their new environment, they enrolled their children in a variety of extracurricular activities. being the most artistically creative of her siblings, suji naturally took to dancing. since she was enrolled in ballet at the age of seven, she fell in love with the art and spent her adolescent years pursuing dance. however, her parents could not accept her wanting to become a professional dancer. at the age of sixteen, they disenrolled her from her dance school and they moved their family back to korea, forcing her into university. however, they wanted their daughter to be happy, albeit successful. they made a compromise: if she took one year of university and still wanted to dance, they would reconsider letting her dance. however, when the time came, she found that she was unable to continue dancing, as she had taken a three year break and her ballet technique would never be as good as it used to be. so, she gave up her dream, and took the second best option: an idol.
