Hyuk was once a human, but after being possessed by an evil spirit, he become a monster that retained little of the humanity he once had. After his transformation, he began to crave human flesh and fed solely on it. At the same time, Hyuk now a Wendigo- became the embodiments of gluttony, greed, and excess; never satisfied after killing and consuming one person, he is constantly searching for new victims. It is also common that wendigos just capture humans to hoard their food, and then eat when hungry. 
This wasn't always the case, not until that night of his last performance at a festival in New York. That performance would've determined his success in the field of music but bad luck has its own ways and out of all the people at the fest, it chose Dean. 
During his human years, Hyuk was seen and described to be rebellious, carefree, emotional, independent, troubled, insecure, misunderstood, principled, impulsive, competitive and irresponsible and seemed to lack a general sense of direction. Music was the only thing on his mind, not caring whether if he'd have a future on it.
He would often use his charms to get out of sticky situation or to get whatever he wants, but he isn't his psycho state. He is usually the snobbish type and would rather sleep somewhere which light nor noise could reach.
