sakata gintoki. an orphan. gintama's plot happened and all of a sudden, he was in this world without a clue how, just a little sick of how like this keeps happening to him. However, unlike the past few times this has happened, he hasn't seen anybody he recognizes. Not the crew, not even the villains, nobody. Which is actually fine by him because they were needy and annoying anyway -- but it'd be a lie to say he didn't miss them sometimes. But, gin is a lone wolf to begin with, it wasn't his fault he attracted so many people around him. this way, he could go at life at his own pace -- but if he were given the chance, it probably would be better to go back.

gin has taken over the body of a man of the name christian yu, a korean-christian who grew up in new jersey and moved to new york after graduating college to be a banker. he was leading a good, honest life until gin took over. the first thing he did was get fired and lose his income and follow that by his home because gin had no idea where it was, and because christian's phone was dead when gin took control, he could never find a charger for the damn thing, which means gin has no contact with christian's friends or family. all he has for identity is his wallet. (it's a good thing gin doesn't know about the stocks that christian has or the retirement account he has in place because :'))))
it's been about three weeks since gin has been in this body and counting. he sleeps on the streets and works at a construction site. he gets paid in cash and spends it on sweets and gambling.
