Crystal fairies are a rare subsection of earth elemental fairies. these fairies are simply earth fairies that long ago moved to caves and the underground, slowly adapting to their surroundings both with their physical appearance and their magical abilities. they are frequently miners, giving them a muscular and broad body structure, and are adapted to live in almost complete darkness.
Changmin is an exception. while any other crystal fairy could tell he was one of them, he didn't get the big and tough build as the rest of his family. he was never really cut out for the mining work and instead opted to work at a museum where he works with rocks and crystals without any physical labor getting involved.
changmin is painfully naive and kind thanks to living in a cave his entire life. not many crystal fairies decide to come out of their small settlements and therefore don't learn a lot about how the world works. he is very curious and while he doesn't really know what he's doing ever is frequently getting involved, always trying to befriend even the crudest of people. he has an eye for shiny things due to his heritage and is much like a dragon in the way that he obsesses and collects anything that stand out to him. this usually ends up being crystals and rocks but can branch into metals and even plastics.
he also really likes fruit.
