Since Jongsuk was able to first open his eyes, his family decided that he would become the families doctor. They already had an heir to their company and wanted a daughter…instead they got an unwanted son. Though his parents loved him, he was nothing compared to his older brother, and his baby sister. He seemed to always attract misfortune. From his older brother breaking his leg, his mother getting fired, his father cheating and his younger sister getting so sick she was hospitalized---it all seeded to revolve around Jongsuk.
As a young child, he was swarmed with tutors, afterschool activities, and lessons to improve himself. Of course, his family loved him, and wanted him to do well in the future…. but it always seemed like no matter what he did…it was never good enough. His brother was free to spend afterschool playing with his friends, his sister was able to take all the after-school activities that were fun…. while he was locked away studying. His parents pretended he didn’t exist. He began lashing out, not wanting to attend the activities. Greatly angered and upset, his parents set him up with a nanny. She was strict, mean, cold and everything Jongsuk hated. When he was with her, he would run away and find solace in the forest---and one day he was able to find an escape. Running from the nanny he tripped over a large book buried into the ground. The book was a book on Necrosis Magic. At a young age he began reading and studying the book. It was a secret that made him special he felt. It was naturally easy for him, learning how to simply wave his hand and cast a spell to make someone drop dead. His nanny was murdered not even a weeks later, and his parents sought out a new nanny. Of course, they believed it was because of Jongsuk…He was a magnet to all things bad.
They found one that was absolutely perfect---a secret mage. It was the mage that buried the book, hoping someone would stumble upon it and they could gain a apprentice. Through the new nanny, Jongsuk’s Necrosis Magic grew and grew. He became more powerful, more invested into the magic. He felt loved by his mage. He felt like finally someone really cared about him. His parents took a while to notice the change in their middle son. When they did, it was because they stumbled upon him in the middle of a spell, and a wild animal on his desk. Horrified they locked him up in the attic. They treated him like he was a monster and call the church to come preform an exorcism. The mage had dropped off the face of the earth, and he was alone. They tortured the boy, trying to get the ‘beast’ out from him. He sat in confinement and tortured for a year before he finally lashed out. It was the night he killed humans for the first time. He killed his entire family, 2 priests and a nun without touching them with his hands. Once he was done…he walked back up into the attic and locked himself there.
With his family dead, he became an orphan. Because of the entire situation surrounding his family’s death, they stuck him into a Church Orphanage. One that specializes in cases like his. They once again locked him up, tested on him, and preformed rituals. But it never worked, occasionally they would end up with dead bodies if they got to close to the boy. Finally, they called in a very powerful priest who was a white witch that specialized in Anti-Magic. The Priest preformed a special ritual that bestowed upon him Anti-magic. The anti-magic sealed off his death magic, and in return he was able to help...not kill. He worked alongside the priest, as his apprentice. It took a lot of convincing at first, it was a total switch from his usual magic. But he became to enjoy it---even if there was still that side of him who longed for his old magic.
Now, here in Halloween town, he runs a Magic and Divination shop. He is only open 3 days of the week, and the rest of the week he is on call. In his shop he can read tarot cards, give magical advice, teach others Anti-Magic, breaks magic spells and curses. He also makes sigils and charms that can block magic. If someone needs an exorcism preformed, he charges hella extra since that is a pain. Plus, he really hates to do it, because he can easily connect with the 'beasts' inside. He just prefers to deal with simple things and live life casually.
