background and personality:

bg - Growing up with a large group of close friends, Yifan was used to being part of a group and not an individual. Through his high school years, he had gotten into plenty of trouble with his friends that deemed them a group of misfits. Yifan, however, didn’t want trouble. He wanted to learn and he wanted to make something of himself. University was his chance to escape- from poverty, from the streets and crime, and from himself.

p - Yifan is a loner type. Someone who works hard but doesn’t have any confidence in himself. He thinks his only redeeming quality happens to be his height. He has a morbid sense of humor and a deep love for history and the stars. He excels in written poetry. He acts shallow to keep attention off of himself.
