Section oo1 : history / about

In the beginning there was nothingness and the Chaos that brought Gaia and her siblings into being. She became known as the Mother, as Earth. She brought life to the emptiness, and shaped it into an image of beauty and love. Of her siblings she was the one who brought light into their eternal darkness, and brought love into existence where it was so desperately needed. She is the mother of all and her love for her children is as eternal as the darkness of her siblings. When mortality called for her she went easily, she adored the world she created and welcomed the chance to walk among it.

Choi Minki was an angel of a child; he was always smiling and his parents swore he never cried. He had a unique charm to him that seemed to make anyone who met him fall in love with him. They always supposed that was why he was taken. He was five years old, living in a small town in Nevada, when he went out to the backyard to play with the family’s pet dog and was never seen again. Despite the Amber Alert that was sent out, and a desperate search by the police, the family, and the neighborhood Minki simply vanished. Unbeknownst to his grieving family he resurfaced to the public again in New York City three years later where he was enrolled in school under the name Ren Harada, claiming to be of Japanese/American decent. He lived as Ren Harada for most of his life, and class mates described him as a very happy boy. He was out going, social, and easily became class president and even led the school’s soccer team. His home life was always something of a mystery as he never invited friends over, despite always being surrounded by them and having plans most evenings and weekends. The teachers always said he was a bright student, above average but never necessarily exceptional academically. His talents seemed to lie in his effortless social skills as all of his teachers praised him for his personality and described him as being the most popular in his class. So they were shocked when they found out that Ren Harada was really a missing child from Nevada.

The case wasn’t solved until Ren entered college and dormed with an equally compelling and mysterious Lee Taemin. A young man from LA majoring in Criminal Justice. The two of them always had a different relationship, most people who came across them would mistake them for being intimate but the two of them never developed into any kind of official relationship. However, Taemin was academically gifted and seemed to have a talent for unsolved cases as it was only eight months into them rooming together that Taemin linked Ren with the missing Minki. This case helped fast track Taemin into his eventual career as a private detective after he graduated. When the case broke the story made headlines all over New York and Nevada, a few major news outlets even broadcasting the story countrywide. Everyone wanted to know; what happened to Minki the day he was taken, and how had he not known all these years that he wasn’t Ren Harada? No one was prepared for the truth.

The exact reason he was kidnapped could only be speculated, but one of the most prevalent rumors was gang related activity. The Choi’s had moved from LA only a year prior to Minki’s kidnapping and it was speculated that his father owed money to someone powerful and couldn’t pay.Though Minki was ushered in for questioning the moment his identity was verified his responses to their inquires left far more questions than answers. According to Minki, who stated several times that he preferred to be called Ren, he remembered the kidnapping very well. He remembered playing with his dog outside when the strange man came up to him. He remembered being told their puppy was hurt and needed help, so he willingly followed them out to a car where he was immediately drugged and taken to an unknown location. From there he told police that he lived in some kind of warehouse with a few other children while they were 'trained'. He was being primed for ual slavery, and he was sold to a couple in New York about a year later. He claimed that he did not live with this couple against his will, and that everything that happened inside the house was consensual. The couple certain seemed to love Ren, nearly to the point of obession and showed more concern for the boy than themselves when they were arrested. Ren tried to fight the charges being placed on the couple, and adamently insisted on calling them his parents. He refused to return to Nevada, though he does allow his biological parents to visit on occasion, as well as his younger twin brothers. To date he still claims the legal name Ren Harada and is continuing his education with the dream of becoming a doctor.
