It was just a simple hobby and something he wanted to get better at, but it wasn’t just that as he grew older. minghao has always had his way around technology and he’d been addicted to coding ever since he had learned it when he was still in school. he spent his life doing it just for fun but when his cousin had discovered how good he was at it, they attempted to rob a bank just for fun. his cousin promised they’d bring the money back but when minghao successfully hacked into the bank’s system, his cousin broke the promise and took the money. he offered to half it with minghao but he refused to accept the money. ever since that day, it always haunted him that he had just done a crime because he had known too many codes that hacking was just as easy as blinking. his cousin invited him to do it multiple times but minghao denied it, no matter how much money he knew he could get from what they could do.

at one night, minghao went home to his parents dead. he didn’t know what else to do and he has been alone for a quite while until his cousin had found out about what happened. that was when he had asked him to work with him again and try to get some money for him to survive on his own. he found himself agreeing for he has nowhere else to run to. he’d been doing the hacking with his cousin enough for him to get connection to get paid to do some business with others. his cousin wasn’t a good companion or a good influence to him, he has adapted different vices that his cousin had. he grew attached to the relative and just as he had found himself getting a soft spot for the male, his cousin dies in a car crash.

he found himself back to square one, alone. the only difference was that he had enough to survive but he found himself not putting trust to anyone. he was afraid to lose more people. attachment and commitment scared him and it was always scary that he could lose someone he felt so attached to. he continued to live in the home that his cousin liked to call “secret hideout”. even if he was lonely, he just forced himself to think that it would be better that way.
