brief: his father comes from Korea, his mother is German. He's been born and raised in South Korea, has a younger brother, who died at the age of 7 due to leukemia. Jongin has moved to Hamburg, Germany during his studies (he majored in German philology) and while being there, he has gotten himself into some shady business. Once his father found out, he flew to Europe and threatened the young male that if he wouldn't immediately withdraw from whatever he was currently dipping his fingers in, he'd disinherit him and there'd be no reason for him to come back to Korea at all. The male has eventually made his peace with his semi-legal antics and once he came back home, he decided to stay at the place where he was born - namely his parents' farm.

Personality / Quirks

personality junkAlthough calm and rather soft-spoken, there's something about him that gives you the impression he might not be that much of a choir boy after all. It might be the cheeky smirk of his, or maybe the glimmer in his eyes whenever he puts his two cents in a conversation, making it ignite with even more ferocity than before. There's no need lying - Jongin simply loves to stir the pot and he'd be remiss if someone would take that possibility from him. Yet despite his mischievous and impish nature, he's pretty much the definition of what elderly German ladies would call a "good boy". Caring and loving, he's awfully loyal to whoever he might call a friend and he'd go to the end of the world for their sake. More witty than well-read and less erudite than someone knowing his cultured, scholarly mind would expect, he's extremely ambitious if it comes to things apart from artsy success. He is, of course, aware of his artistic talent, yet he's also well aware that he and few of his also highly educated friends are a minority in the money-driven society and that there's no use in putting too much hope into one of his works becoming a literary hit along the lines of Harry Potter.

Likes German beer, schlager, lambs, calves, basically all kinds of animal babies he's seen on his parents' farm, Tchaikovsky, Bulhakov, Goethe, Dance parties, serenity of the countryside, coffee early in the morning, oatmeal with strawberries, sunrises, the sound of the ocean and the rustle of trees.

— he is fluent in both Korean and German. when at lack of words, he sometimes subconsciously starts to mix those two languages together, making his listeners gape at him with mouths ajar.
— while other kids at school had cats and dogs as pet, Jongin and his brother had a... chicken. it was called Coco and the boys loved it with all their might. now, after having found out he's more of a cat person, he's bought a siamese and called it Wilhelm.
— he actually prefers German cuisine over the Korean one, but he knows that admitting that would break his mother's heart.
— he's a terrible swimmer and if at a swimming pool, he mostly uses the waterslides or sits in the jacuzzi.
— can't whistle at all and he's awfully salty about that.
— despite his rather harsh-looking character, he almost doesn't swear at all - if he does, it's probably the German word "scheisse" that he's muttering under his breath.

TWO. i'm a university student, i give private lessons after lectures and i'm the class president of my faculty - i hope you figured this means i'm busy. i'm trying to be online as much as i can, but finals are approaching fast and i need to study, too. so please, don't get angry with me if i forget to reply!

The annual village festival is still a few months away yet it's slowly but surely approaching with tiny, itsy-bitsy steps. Jongin never really toiled to do anything above what was expected from him, namely helping his father sell the vegetables and animals that they'd grow and keep at their farm. However this year, he got himself into some really deep stuff - one of the elderly ladies somehow recollected how great of a dancer Jongin was. And he, somehow, agreed to come up with a dance peformance - but is that going to end well?
