Yuiri was born and raised in Japan but moved to Seoul at the age of 9 when her father, a bioengineer got a job offer at a renown South Korean research institute.
Although growing up with four older brothers and therefore knowing how to fight and play rough, Yuiri embraces her feminine side as well and has shown great interest in fashion and makeup since young. After her parents gifted her a sewing machine when she was 12, Yuiri started to make her own clothes.
After high school, she went straight to university to study fashion design. While still in her second year, Yuiri and a couple of friends started their own fashion line, focusing on sports and beach wear, with her being in charge of female swim attires. Selling their creations at an online fashion store, the group of friends had moderate success, which allowed them to expand further, giving Yuiri the chance to try her hand at designing lingerie as well.
