All she knows is progression. From the moment she’d entered the stage that was the world, Chaeyoung had been pushed and pushed to reach for the stars. A princess by all standards, she grew with sky high expectations and unrivaled support in all aspects. Wealth, love, adoration, anything anyone could ever think of except for presence. With such unmatched wealth in her family, meant that Chaeyoung hardly ever spent time with her parents. Although they never failed to convey their affections, she’s always felt she had to perform for their sake. Ballet, piano, school, figure skating, debate team, mock trial—her involvement in these activities were only sought out to fill a void she felt just kept taking and taking.
High school, a demanding time if she had ever known one, a transitioning period, came crashing down on her like wave after wave. It was only after she had survived the overload of self-loathing and expectations that Chaeyoung had learned to value herself past the validation of her parents. She earned money, she spent some. She indulged, and then refrained, and yet she still finds herself with issues surrounding abandonment.
Chaeyoung lives the life a girl could only dream of. She’s drowned in designer, luxurious foods, a more than capable roof of her head—multiple at that—she travels all over the world with her best friend for meals, and yet she does her best to remain humble. Granted, she’s spoiled. She’s so incredibly spoiled that her adolescent tendencies haven’t necessarily dissolved with age, but progression is the only constant in her life and observing the work ethic of her parents has helped her realize her true passion: law. Law, so structured yet so malleable, is one responsibility she feels enjoyment from. A passionate student and a girl working towards a better being, Chaeyoung hopes, that even with her insecurities, she’ll succeed far beyond the name of her family.
