she wanted it all. and thats exactly what she got. raised by an ambitious and strong-willed single mother, jennie had to be just as strong and assertive from a young age. her mother wanted her only child to be a doctor, but she had other plans. she wanted to be a pop star, and thats exactly what she became. mother be damned.

she did it all on her own, got a job at 10 years old delivering newspaper on a bike just to get the money to take dancing and singing lessons. and at 13 she was signed as a trainee to one of the biggest entertainment companies in korea. from there she debuted three years later at 16, and she took the kpop industry by storm. in just her first year her debut song became an international hit and won her multiple awards. from there she took on acting and modelling gigs, her face plastered over every billboard and bus in asia. her life trending on every social media platform. she was living the life of a full-blown star. 

at age 20 she met him, her first boyfriend as an idol. a popular japanese actor and model who was six years older than her.  the two made every newspaper and magazine in korea and japan, and their relationship had mixed reviews amongst their fanbases. it was a huge scandal, but their break up two years later was an even bigger scandal. and what followed after well...it ruined jennie's career within 24 hours. bitter that she dumped him to focus on herself and her acting career, he anonymously leaked around 25 pictures of jennie, and in a conservative country like Korea well...it was safe to say it was definitely a frowned upon practice. 

her image was ruined, and the comments came flooding in, , cheater,  , , , . Every awful name in the book. jennie knew her ex was behind all of this, and after all of those pictures were leaked he came out on an instagram live saying that she abused him emotionally, and cheated on him with a long string of men. though the truth was that he had been the abuser, countless times she had to cancel photo shoots or other appearances due to bruises and marks she couldn’t cover all the way. but to the public he was the victim and she was the . 

six months later after announcing all activities will be placed on hold and she will be taking an indefinite hiatus, she finds herself in the french countryside, praying the locals here don't recognize her so she can have some peace from the world. 

a paradox for sure. jennie on the outside is cold, calm and collected. albeit a bit arrogant and nosey. her social skills are a bit stunted and she struggles to connect with others and 'put herself out there', and clings tightly to her comfort zone. a loner by nature but a social butterfly at heart makes life hard for her/ she ;longs to connect with others and be apart of something, though she struggles to make that a reality and often just withdraws behind a mask of aloofness and distance, using her arrogance as a shield. after all you can't be rejected if you reject everyone first right? though despite this icey and y facade, to the rare few that are close to her she is goofy, kind, and shy.
