ever since she could remember, her parents made every decision for her: what sport she would play, what outfits she would wear, which friends she would hang out with - they even handpicked her very first "boyfriend." her life was controlled by those of puppet strings, swaying her to and fro, and all she was able to do was dangle; unable to fight back. and why? because she was their "one and only princess" whom would one day make the best money? sure.
ariana was forced into sport after sport - cheerleading, volleyball, figure skating even! yet, sports weren't her strong suit, despite her parents wanting her to become some kind of star athlete. with that crossed off of the list, they figured - why not a doctorates degree? she could become a nurse, a doctor, anything! perfect, they make great money! right? she was smart, book-smart to be exact, and clearly lacked a touch within the athletic department. but she hated everything about being a doctor. no one, not one person, was ever concerned with what she wanted, what she liked.
on her own time, without her parents' knowledge, she began to explore herself. she began writing her own music, building a home studio to record demos to send out; slowly, she'd began taking the world by storm - to her parents' surprise. how could they be so displeased with such income? it must've hit them right within the gut when they realized they weren't authorized to touch any of it.
so ariana dropped out of college and moved to los angeles where she found her way, signed to a label, healed through music to only hurt once more, a cycle that'd began to repeat slowly. after too much trauma, she'd deemed it fitting to get away. to move to a place where no one would find her, practically off the grid, for as ever long as she'd pleased. but, would it do justice for her?
