Xiuying has always been different and lived his life more complex than anyone. It wasn’t something that he’d be proud of; he was much more fragile than anyone that he’s met before. This disease that he had was very rare and most of the people he has bumped into don’t know it exists. Due to that, his parents were overprotective of him. He was enrolled into home studying programs up until the age of 7. His parents never knew how to handle him going to normal schools but that caused their son to grow lonely with none to to little contact with other humans. As soon as he got older, home study programs started to get hard and his parents decided they would let his grandmother teach him instead. Little did they know that she taught him a lot about Thalassans because she had a best friend who was one. This sparked Xiuying’s love for them and how he had always thought that they were amazing, as told by his grandmother. He learned a lot from her and which got him into asking his parents about them. His parents didn’t like that he was suddenly so fascinated by the Thalassans and decided that they should teach him instead of his grandmother. They moved away from his grandmother which caused conflict between the three of them. Despite this, he took his grandmother’s words with him and at the age of 18, he got a tattoo of his grandmother’s favorite proverb:

守得云开见月明。 “Watch till clouds part to see moonlight.”

The family moved somewhere new and his parents tried to stay in contact with his grandmother without Xiuying knowing about it. He likes to wander around the ampitheatres and likes to look around at the Thalassans that pass by. He didn’t like to get too close to one because of his allergy to water. He wouldn’t know what to do if something happens while he’s alone. A lot of times he likes to learn more about Thalassans and he likes to write letters to his grandmother about the things he has learned. Xiuying didn’t like the fact that he didn’t have her close to him. He worried about her a lot and wished that he’d see her again. He never really knew who he was and was losing himself in the words of his parents most of the time. It felt like he was being carved into someone else even if he knew they just wanted to protect him. A lot of times he hated that he was allergic to something that seemed like it couldn’t harm anyone. It was a weakness that he wished didn’t seem like he could be defeated so easily. He hated losing and that wasn’t a side that his grandmother taught him but it just grew as he had many fights with his parents. He continued to live with his parents even in an older age and even if he wanted to get out of their grasp, it felt a lot more safer to be in the hands of the people who lived to protect him.

Before You Approach Me

1. Have an idea on what to do. My mind is not that creative with plots so our braincells have to help each other on that.
2. Read about my character. I will not waste time on talking about him but i'll talk about him if needed and if you have questions.
3. Don't plan romance with me unless I see it happening. I'd like plotted romance after our characters have interacted and we both have an idea on what r/s is going to happen.

Writing/Plotting Style

1. Prefer third pov but willing to do 1st if that's what you want.
2. Grammar isn’t my strongest point but i try my best so i just apologize if i’m doing it wrong.
3. Replies length will depend on my muse. I also do like to mirror.

Xiuying's grandmother had a best friend that was a thalassan and she had many stories about him/her. it just so happens that your grandparent was his grandma's best friend. He's never thought of looking for the said best friend but destiny will find his way. at some point they will meet.
