jungmo remembers his youngest days as some of the happiest in his life. it was back when he lived in a modest little house with his caring mother and kind, hard-working father. they were practically the standard of everything ordinary, but they were always happy and satisfied with what they had. it was a peaceful time when everything was nice, but all good things end. and sadly, jungmo's time of happiness had a very slow and painful end. his mother was suddenly discovered to have a chronic illness that jungmo isn't even quite sure of what it was to this day- but that was the start of the end. as she got weaker and weaker and the hospital bills to keep her alive for even a bit longer kept increasing, all the happiness was out of their modest place and they could barely even pay for it now. despite all their efforts, she still passed away. jungmo still clearly remembers her last moments of life and the gift that was supposed to be for his birthday that she gave him.. it was a black watch that he cherishes with his whole soul and even now, wears it almost everyday. after his mother passed away, his father fell into debt and depression. he even got layed off from his work, but was lucky enough to find another job as an actress' manager. after time passed, she became very interested in jungmo's father and they ended up dating and marrying each other just 2 years after his mother had passed. jungmo felt betrayed, felt that it was too soon- but well, he couldn't protest and be taken seriously at such a young age. after that, his whole lifestyle changed. they moved into a huge mansion like place that his new mother owned, and lived the complete opposite of the life they had recently- going from below average to clearly rich. while that was an upside to this marriage for the boy, the downside was just how controlling she was. she controlled his father easily and controlled himself too, just because neither could really protest back at the time. she said that jungmo was pretty and saw so much potential in him that she made the boy become an actor at the age of 10 and later on also became a model. jungmo wasn't against it back then, but he now realizes he never was really given the chance to dream of anything else in a household like that. jungmo just knew nothing outside of following what his parents said at that time, as from his experiences with his kind birth mom-- everything they say would be good for him. however, it wasn't the same case her. this lady made jungmo become cold and uptight - of course cold only while in the house, he needed to act sweet for the cameras to look charming like the teens would want, she'd say too - calling it more "classy" and made him feel as if his only selling points in this world was that she was his step-mother and that he is good looking. even as he grew older and became more aware of the manipulation she had used on all of them, his self-esteem still was low due to such comments. he hated what she'd say but still silently held on, for the sake of his father that would be so saddened to see the people he loves the most fight. however- his step-mother decided to attack him for always wearing his black watch, saying that it's ugly and not actor-like and she'll just give him a prettier one if he threw it out for good. jungmo was fed-up and disgusted that she had decided to attack everything about him to the point where she was nitpicking on a watch that most don't even notice- but since it meant so much to him, reminded him of better days with a mother he actually valued.. he finally let out his anger at her and left that house and moved in here instead. jungmo prays that he just won't end up regretting his decisions in the future.
