Strings of fate used as a medium to create — crafting an overlooked masterpiece. Hues impeccably mixed yet only receiving turn of heads and frustrated sighs. The jewel shattered and scattered itself, seeking other pieces to make another whole. Slowly, it becomes a diamond.

BACKGROUND
CHAPTER I : THE FOURTH CHILD
He missed everything—by eight minutes he missed everything. He missed the celebration of the third child but was on time for the condemnation of the fourth. He was the fourth; the unlucky one. For years he had to put up with overhearing conversations of how he still came about even after all the things they did. At first, he did not understand why they were so caught up with the idea of him. Who was he to them—and who are they supposed to be for him? He never saw these people he shared a roof with as family because they never treated him as such: there was no designated seat for him at the table, the bed he was sleeping on was almost broken that it was so much better to sleep on the floor and they call him ‘Minghao’ using their monotonous and demeaning voices.

CHAPTER II : THE TUTOR
Having no one to rely on, he had to discover his abilities for himself as he watched the other twin be trained. He would be there and would witness as his twin creates illusions that he would often criticize as obvious. They were tangible to him, something he could control too when he wanted. Somehow, he began to be his twin’s tutor: pointing out the mistakes and correcting them. His naivety led his twin to surpass him even more as his twin’s illusions—by the age of twelve—were perfect that sometimes, even Minghao gets lost in them.

CHAPTER III : THE BETRAYED
It was on their sixteenth birthday, when his twin had called him from their room. Minghao was playing with his animated paintings. He was intently watching them as they splattered color on the cream walls only to be halted once his twin opened the door. There was an awkward pause between Minghao dissolving his paintings and his twin calling him downstairs for a “surprise”. He was flattered at the same time, confused—what could have been so special about this day that it made their family actually do something for him. On their dining hall, he was welcomed by everyone—even their grandfather who seemed to condemn him much more than everybody else. One thing happened after another and all Minghao could feel was excitement and happiness, he could not believe what was happening—because he never should have from the start. When it was time to blow the candle, he began seeing colors fade. He lost, to his twin—even if it was him who thought everything his twin knew.

CHAPTER IV : THE REDEEMED
After the incident, Minghao was taken away by his grandfather while his twin was showered with even more adoration than before. He swore he had his fists clenched all the way to their ancestral house where their grandfather resided—alone. There he knew about the truth: his grandfather was also a fourth child. It was not condemnation that his grandfather felt for him but pity and embarrassment. He hated how Minghao never showcased his true power even if he was capable of surpassing the third child—that he was just as worthy to carry their family name proudly. His grandfather never called him weak, only a coward because his strength never faltered even once but he did not know how to make use of it. He was tasked to make his power as his own, throwing away the idea of having to depend on his twin’s illusions for it to manifest. Minghao then realized that he was never meant to play the half of a whole.

POWER: ART MANIPULATION
OVERVIEW
The Xu lineage had always been strict of marrying pure-bloods—families who only breed with compatible power types as theirs—in order to preserve and strengthen their long bloodline of matter manipulators. They have long restricted themselves of only having three children if they choose to marry, as the power gradually lessens per children.
Minghao, on the other hand, was a fourth child. He was not a fruit of an accidental pregnancy nor infidelity but rather, a loser in a race: he was the younger twin. His mother was the pure-blooded Xu, with the ability of reshaping matter while his father has the ability of artistic animation. This combination of powers bore them fraternal twins with the abilities of true illusion and art manipulation—the latter seemingly underwhelming as compared to the first but a much pure combination.

TECHNIQUES
LEGEND: M - Mastery, C - Control, E - Effectiveness
BEGINNER
• Paintballs ( M: 100% | C: 100% | E: 60% )
Minghao has the ability to make spheres out of paint to either launch to an opponent to damage them or surround himself with it for defense. The paintballs either have explosive components or hardening components depending on the paint mixture. At present, his limit is at 100 paint balls at once.
• Paint Mines ( M: 100% | C: 100% | E: 80% )
Minghao has the ability to paint surfaces which will explode once they come contact with an opponent. At present, these mines remain passive for 5 hours, Minghao should be at least within the 1 kilometer radius for them to be retained, and he can only plant 50 mines at once.
• Animated Paintings (Small) ( M: 100% | C: 100% | E: 70% )
Minghao can paint and control small (nothing bigger than common rodents) abstract and concrete matter. At present, these objects last as long as Minghao is conscious, within the 1 kilometer radius, and he can only paint 20 small matters at once.
• Sculpture Manipulation (Small) ( M: 100% | C: 100% | E: 80% )
Minghao has the ability to control small sculptures (both his creation and others') upon marking a part of it with his paint. At present, these sculptures will be in his control for at least 2 hours and has to be within the 500 meter radius. Minghao can only mark 10 small sculptures at once.
INTERMEDIATE
• Paint Traps ( M: 100% | C: 90% | E: 100% )
Like paint mines, Minghao can paint surfaces which can encage or bound an opponent once they are set off depending on the way he painted them and his paint mixture. At present, these traps remain passive for 3 hours and Minghao should be within the 500 meter radius. Each trap can hold small creatures for at least 5 hours, while passive humans and bigger passive creatures for at least 1 hour. Minghao can only set 10 traps at once.
• Animated Paintings (Medium) ( M: 100% | C: 90% | E: 100% )
Minghao can paint and control medium (nothing bigger than an average adult human) abstract and concrete matter. At present, these objects lasts for 1 hour and Minghao should be within the 500 meter radius. He can only paint 10 medium matters at once.
• Sculpture Manipulation (Medium) ( M: 100% | C: 90% | E: 100% )
Minghao has the ability to control medium sculptures (both his creation and others') upon marking a part of it with his paint. At present, these sculptures will be in his control for at least 1 hour and has to be within the 500 meter radius. Minghao can only mark 5 medium sculptures at once.
• Paint Companion ( M: 100% | C: 90% | E: 100% )
The main difference between animation techniques and manipulation techniques from spawning a companion, is Minghao's paint mixture: the addition of a bit of his blood. Upon spawning, the companion has a consciousness (though mute and not too intellectual) of its own rather than being in the control of Minghao. Although he is capable of commanding the companion, it mostly decides what to do on its own. At present, such companion lasts as long as Minghao is conscious and has to be within the 100 meter radius. Minghao can only spawn one type of companion at a time and it has to be no bigger than an average adult human and cannot have any humanity to it. Although infused with his blood, if the companion takes damage, it has no effect on Minghao—the blood is simply to add consciousness to the companion.
• Enhancing Hue ( M: 95% | C: 100% | E: 100% )
This ability allows Minghao to paint his body and/or armor with a certain color which will have an effect on whichever skill he intended it to affect. Shades of red intensifies the damage dealt by his creations. Shades of blue enhances the toughness of his armor/body and of his creations. Shades of green enhances his speed (when he paints his boots and gloves with it) and the speed of his animations and companion. Shades of yellow are mostly used by Minghao to jog his memory, allowing him to create more precise and more concrete matter. At present, Minghao still can't "gradient"; meaning, he can only use one enhancement on a part of his body/armor and on his creation at a time. This effect lasts along with the duration of the creation and as long as Minghao is conscious.
EXPERT
• Quickpaint ( M: 90% | C: 90% | E: 95% )
Minghao can paint an area about the size of an average sized room and trigger it to sink everything on top of it like a quicksand would do. Although, due to him not mastering this technique yet, it only slows down opponents and not completely immobilize them. At present, this effect only lasts for 20 minutes and can only be used twice a day.
• Paint Clone ( M: 90% | C: 87% | E: 90% )
Minghao can clone himself if he adds more blood to his companion paint mixture. This clone is mostly unresponsive and can only do the beginner techniques that Minghao is knowledgeable of. Minghao usually clones himself when painting as to finish his work easily. At present, he can only create one clone of himself. The clone also only lasts 2 hours and this technique can only be used once a day. Since he never used this technique during battle simulations at school before, he is not aware of his clone's full capabilities.
• Paint Illusion ( M: 90% | C: 100% | E: 85% )
Minghao can paint a 100 meter radius environment to mimic a place he had seen before. Since he still has not mastered this technique, there may be some inaccurate details that is mostly just filled up by a random memory in his mind in order to complete the picture. During this state, everyone within the 100 meter radius will see what Minghao wants them to see but, everyone who would enter the 100 meter radius after the "painting" has been completed, would treat it as the original place. This technique works well in closed and undisturbed places unlike in open areas where people may come and go as they please.

PASSIVES
• Near-perfect Photographic Memory
Minghao can easily recall everything he sets his eye upon on although sometimes it may need a little jogging if (a.) he has only seen it once, (b.) it brings an unpleasant feeling once he tries to remember, (c.) it is mostly bland or monochromatic, and (d.) it is merely an illusion.
• Spinal Paint
Instead of spinal fluid, his spine contains a paint mixture which are then connected to his fingertips making them secrete paint at will. This fluid does not pass through his bloodstream however, but has a different stream. It does not circulate throughout his body; only his fingertips can secrete this paint. At present, his spinal paint reservoir is still at its average – if he drains all his spinal paint, it could fill an average-sized inflatable pool.
• Fifth Sense: Art
Minghao can discern art from non-art by touching them. It is not merely a judgment of whether it appeals to him as art or not but rather the feel of it. If a painting is merely a printout, he can easily feel it and when it was actually painted he can feel it as well. Somehow, it’s the psychical connection between the art and the artist which he can feel. The greater psychical connection there is, the more control it gives to him—this is why Minghao mostly prefers to use his own art rather than others’ since his works have the greatest psychical connection to him.

COSTUME
Minghao sports a costume which is like a blank canvas. It is styled as a romper that is white since Minghao uses his technique enhancing hue to color his costume according to the situation and to his preference. His footwear is styled as a pair of creepers which is also white that can be painted on. He wears open gloves for him to use his fingers for much smaller and detailed paintings as well as streaking sculptures and other artwork for him to control. As for gears, Minghao wears a brace that penetrates his spine in order to have his spinal paint run through a tube which acts like an airbrush in order for him to paint bigger matter. He also has two liquid containers attached to his legs which also connects to the tube of the airbrush—the containers contain his spinal paint as well, which he extracts every night for him to have reserves (it is less effective tho).

You think it's his artworks (or how much he looks like an artwork himself) that somehow led you to confessing your feelings. As a dare maybe, or you're just getting tired of bottling it up. You gather all your courage to walk to him at the end of the hallway, painting, as it appears to be, one of his commissioned murals. Minghao (or so you thought) paid you no attention until you heard his voice from behind you.

I don't mind getting called by my character's name or my username — whichever you prefer, really. My timezone is GMT+8 but due to my schedule, I tend to be more around in the evening till dawn than morning till afternoon.
I lean more towards 3rd POV but I can work with detailed 1st POV if it is more preferred. As for genres, it really depends on which trope my character falls. I can work with mature themes with the exception of (even if I am of legal age and my character is of legal age too) due to personal reasons.
Pre-made plots are provided on the plotlines section but feel free to PM me if you would like to plot further — or if you wish to do any of the pre-mades. Prompts are mainly for much shorter and more casual threads if we cannot come up with detailed plots for the mean time.
Pre-established relationships are highly welcomed as long as you do not metagame/godmod. I like to flesh out my character thus I prefer to have lengthy and detailed profiles. However, not because it is there, does not mean you can fully use it to your own accord — it is my cheatsheet, not yours. Information that are most probably disclosed are basics, quirks, interests, and some aspects of my character's personality and power.
I mostly prefer to drop starters but if you think it is much more appropriate for you to do so, then feel free to drop the starter. I tend to mirror, but when I feel more inspired than usual, my replies may be much lengthier — it is fine with me if you do not mirror but at least give me something to work with.
If ever I lose muse for our thread, I will surely give you a heads up. Please do not excessively poke me since I keep a tracker and it makes me uncomfortable. If ever you lose muse for our thread, no hard feelings — just PM me and maybe we could start with another or just casually chat.
I tend to multi-para and I am capable of writing novella — although it mostly depends on the plot and my muse. My writing style is kind of in between lyrical writing and purple prose — I use figure of speech alot especially metaphor. I can go beige prose if you prefer very straightforward writing.
