Taeyeon was born from an unknown villain called "Stygian" who produces who has the ability to create ghosts and conjure spectres to kill and defeat heroes and innocents. He is also infamous of killing one of the mighty superheroes that sets the hearts of the future superheroes to eradicate him. But the Stygian fell in love with the minor superhero named "Weapon Bearer" as she can shift her body into any weapon. She is the first born and a failure as she hasn't wield any of their powers, her father had abused her much as she trained her hard to be something he would be proud of. Taeyeon was young and scared of her father's presence so she always ran to her mother who is soft and understanding to her no matter what, she was a coward who has no quirk both of her father and mother. Unlike her younger sister who wields the power of her mother, she made their father proud. Taeyeon was a weak-hearted person, easily get scared and fears her father's presence until she witnessed her father's wrath that made their mother died, she unleashed her consealed power and made the ghost of the embodiment of seven sins and destroys the place. Their father had left them unscathed, leaving his two daughters behind.
Years later, she went to Sora Academy to train her power and decides to be a hero. She became one of the top heroes until now and now she also became a teacher in the academy to teach Hero Psychology, facing their fears and how to fight against it. Taeyeon is an energetic and trustworthy person, she likes to eat egg pudding, she sometimes had a child-like behavior but she does not tolerate someone who labels her height or making a joke about it. It takes dozens of times to make her angry, unless you know about her past and her family background and takes the position to make an opinion about it.
Years later, she went to Sora Academy to train her power and decides to be a hero. As she was born from the infamouse villain, she swore to herself that she would get revenge on her mother's death as she cursed his own father that one day he will fall on her knees and beg for his life. After her mother's funeral, she lock herself in her room as she keeps on mourning for their loss. Taeyeon eventually make her heart stoned as she thought of their father, who murdered their mother. She swore to use her ability for the good of the people. Her only desire in her heart is to defeat her father and make him pay for what she did not just for her mother, but for the people he had killed long time ago. Being a student in her situation is not easy, having a father who is a villain, some students bullied her for it and thinking that she would do the same as her father did due to her abilities and his. She only have few friends due to the issue of her family but she only avoid it by making herself stronger over time and showing them that she is not like his father who hurts innocent. She kept her reason of being a hero, but one hero asked her. "After you have achieved your goal, would you still continue in your life?"
Taeyeon answered nothing, she is not sure if she could continue as a hero once she achieved defeating her own father. She wasn't sure yet if should still go on as a hero and go to the anti-hero side as people are still criticizing her powers that it reminds them of Stygian. She hated became a villain, she hated the side of where her father is. Her sister, Kim Yerim, is ten years younger than her and she needs guidance as well as she needs her. Taeyeon loves her sister despite the cruelties they had been as they are carrying both of their parents' powers.
As she applied in Sora Academy, she created Pitch Black, it is an antagonist from Rise of the Guardian who wants to reign the world as he wanted the people to fear him to feel his presence as dark and scary. That's what Taeyeon wants, she wants her enemies to fear her and make them insane for a short period of time she can manipulate ghosts and strikes fear on people's hearts. As hero and a teacher, she won't be going easy to the students as her class is. It is important for the young heroes to understand what we'll be their decisions in life.
