he who slices his mind from body without a blade. he who divides himself into multiples. he is called "kire" meaning "cut!"

his powers

abilities;
— duplication, the ability to clone himself.
— he can confidently make two clones of himself outside of his regular body, and each of them represent different parts of him: 1) the physical body (usually a clone that wears a blank expression), 2) the operating brain (the original body), and the emotional manifestation (a clone that expresses his moods).
— harm done to the clones does not transfer back to the host body, but the senations do come back to yuta.
— if he has made only one clone, then yuta splits into 1) the operating brain (the original body), and 2) a clone that is almost identical to him, but the clone is kept silent.
— when he speaks, sometimes one or both clones will speak with him. it's easiest for all his clones to mimic the original yuta, because then he doesn't need to operate them separately. operating issues happen when there are three yutas, and often, when he has two clones of himself and the original, the original will hide, allowing the clones to take his full focus.
— when yuta makes his clones, his consciousness can change from one clone to another. the presence of his consciousness is what differentiates the original body from the clones. theoretically, yes, his conscience can hop from body to body, and often thats the easiest way for him to fool you into thinking there's two yutas. (but the switch takes a second--it is NOT instantaneous).
limitations;
— yuta commands two bodies at any time, but three is his limit.
— when distracted, embarassed, or caught off guard, there are chances that his focus waivers, therefore making one or both clones disappear
— the clones do not have separate minds from yuta so they do not organically speak: if they speak, they either mimic the original yuta's words OR they say what yuta puppets them into saying.

his history

currently relevant history;

— yuta has always been normal, jovial, bright, energetic, and thoughtful, but his father’s expectations stifled so much of that: yuta needed to be his own person. he wanted to find himself. he told his parents he was moving to korea long after his acceptance came in and long after his decision was made.
— japan was never home for yuta, even if most of his life was spent there. it wasnt until he came to korea that some truths came to light: his mother finally unveiled the truth of his father's unrest to yuta. his father's father was a super hero, and yuta's father was burdened with the expectation of being the next in line. his father inherited weak abilities to clone, at least to the point where he could produce a third arm but it never fully manifested in him. he chose to hide his embarrassment and he was waiting for his son's powers to manifest.
— yuta hasn’t looked back from his decision to move to korea. he calls home and visits for christmas. he lives in korea now and has for the past 5 years: taking three years of proper college and then joining sora academy when it was absolutely necessary. a fight that went to far forced the powers out of him.
— yuta is extraverted—a kind of guy you cant miss when he makes a point to wave to you. his smile is perpetually bright because he’s living in the now, in the moment, where it is so much better than it used to be. he tastes freedom and revels in all of its flavors. he is free and takes adventures when he wants and revels in brimming self confidence. he’s not the yuta his family made or knows.
a deeper dive;
— yuta grew up in a pretty traditional household. one elder sister, a mom, and a dog— his dad is a , but he also has a pet dog. yuta is never sure why or what for but his father was never as open or warm to him as he was his sister. yuta always felt like an extra, an add on.
— total mama’s boy. he did his best for his mama. mama saw his potential, saw his smiles, bore witness to his successes no matter how small. it’s always different with mama’s, yuta thinks.
— relatively normal middle class upbringing. he was about 7-8 when he began to see a difference in the way his father treated his sister and him. when his elder sister cried, it was met with concern, and when he cried, it was met with disdain. “boys don’t cry.” the disapproval in his father’s voice is enough to cut away at yuta. he just wanted to be loved.
— yuta was promptly put into karate classes to help with his crying issue at age 7. it never stopped him from crying, but it did give him a good way to exhaust his anger. he felt nothing but anger sometimes. it was born from frustration: frustration at his father for never letting down, frustration for the feeling of not belonging, frustration for not understanding how to fix it, and frustration for not being what his father expected of him.
— he wasnt the best at technique, but he was a quick thinker when sparring. yuta got penalized twice for punches above the opponents shoulder in the final round of the district-wide championship. it cost him the trophy and the title but he made his teacher and his mama proud. his father sighed his disappointment and laid down his wise wisdom, “control your hands.”
— high school is when yuta brings home a sense of brand new independence. driving, new classes, the ability to put his clever mind into something. his parents seemed happy for a while, and things actually looked up. he began to understand them. it took only one fight at school for him to be pulled from the one thing he had come to love—karate. he talked back, threw a fit, and even refused dinner three days in a row. he’d rather protest than please his father at this point.
— yuta goes relatively unnoticed in the house after that fight. either he’s gaming, watching anime, or studying korean as he moves through high school and plans to go to college in korea. he’s figured, at this point, that he can’t stand being within driving range of his family. even if the only positive beacon in his life was his mom, it brought a lot of emotional baggage being in japan for prolonged periods of time.
