In a conservative town where rumors like this could ruin a family, he kept the secret close to heart. He was willing to live with the pain and loneliness of just watching his best friend date cheerleaders and choir girls.
That is until at another one of those dumb high school parties where everyone gets drunk on cheap liquor and even cheaper beer, his best friend kisses him. It's soft and barely there but it's enough.
