In the small shrine, Irene was born into a litter of four cubs with Irene being the youngest. She grew up being often babied by her older siblings and often just staying in the shrine just looking over it as she watched over the shrine and the people that visited. Her siblings would often look out of her and not let her join in any harmful acts or any malevolent type adventures which lead irene to be very playful and more a sweet trickster - a kitsune that humans or others would actually like. 

As she grew up, Irene became much of a trickster and benevolent type of spirit that would play with the young children that would come around the shrine often becoming others playmate or the adorable fox hanging around the shrine - she would displace people's belongings putting them  in odd places, or stealing trinkets to remember her new friends by. 

While in her fox form, she was often people's pet for the day or a comfort companion that would listen to them, give advice, or simply let others cuddle with her to relieve their stress or bad karma. 

Irene never left the shrine as she gained her tails as typically kitsune gains a tail each year or when they gain power. Irene's power comes from the face she helps people in giving advice, punishing evil individuals, and helping people that come to the shrine seeking help - which in irene's case is usually advice and getting people back on their feet. 

She's forgotten how old she is, how many people she's helped, but she does at this point have all of her tails - and is ready venture out to help poor souls that malevolent kitsunes have hurt, and maybe find new friends and found new sides of herself.
