For generations, the Shin family have run the Villeport province in the name, and as representatives, of the King of Tradian. They've always ruled justly but fiercely while sticking to the King's expectations and that is no different with the current viceroy, Lady Shin Bora. However, Bora's rise to power isn't one that she's happy to regale.

Bora was born on a sunny spring morning as the second child to her parents. Her five years older brother was already been groomed to take over their father's title, so Bora was simply taught the ins and outs of being a proper lady. She was taught how to run a household along with various artistic skills like piano, calligraphy, and tapestry, but those never sated her. Bora was always interested in what her fascinating older brother was doing and she convinced him to teach her some of the things he was learning as well. Weak-willed when it comes to his precious little sister, the pre-viceroy secretly tutored the girl in military strategy and fencing.

Things were not always smooth sailing for the young girl though. By the time that she was 12-years-old, Bora's mother fell ill. With the physician unable to diagnose her in time, the woman succumbed to her sickness within the year. Months following the untimely death of Lady Shin, the Viceroy fell ill as well, supposedly due to pre-existing heart complications. This was a lot for the children they left in their wake, but at 18, her brother was fully educated and ready to take on his role.

For Bora, adjusting to life without her parents was rather difficult, but she never let these difficulties show on the surface. She simply did all that a 13-year-old could to help her brother with his rule. The young viceroy often went on a lot of diplomatic missions from province to province, town to town, so it never bothered Bora when she didn't see him for months at a time. He always wrote, so she always knew he was okay. But one day, the letters stopped coming. The viceroy had disappeared. This spread a great deal of worry and gossip throughout Villeport. Many assumed the viceroy to be an abandoner, others assumed he met his untimely death like his parents. Bora didn't believe either, but someone had to run the province in her brother's stead. Not wanting her home to fall into the hands of an outsider and well-versed in the duties of a viceroy, 16-year-old Bora stepped up to the lesser throne.

As a child, Bora was always told to hold her emotions tight, lest they be used to bring about her downfall. Today, she takes this advice to heart and runs Villeport in the same way that her father and brother would have wanted it to be run: justly, fiercely, and with a heart of gold.

personality junk Well-mannered and refined, Bora isn't one to react largely to much. Due to her teachings as a child, she bears the most of her emotions deep within herself, rather than keeping them on her sleeve. The viceroy of Villeport is an incredibly kind woman. She often goes out of her way daily to provide for the poor people of her province and those that she happens upon on her travels. However, with her province's best interests at heart and her duty to the King, she isn't going to let anyone walk over her or her people in any instances.

TWO. i definitely prefer plot over wing and PMs over wall so I can keep track of it all. i do expect some cooperation when it comes to plotting as well. i want us to have a plot that we're both happy with. otherwise, it's no fun for someone. if you don't like something/something doesn't work with your character, tell me and i'd do the same.

THREE. i prefer 3rd, paragraph but nothing incredibly long. two or three solid ones are perfectly fine.

FOUR. reply speed varies because i like to give my best and i might be held up with school stuff or just not having an idea of what to say right away. (i'm a senior and i'm working on my thesis along with many other writing/linguistics-based classes, so sometimes writing for rpr is just hard because i get burnt out.) you don't have to poke me, i'm literally always thinking about it when i haven't replied and i promise to get back to you.

FIVE. if you feel like we need to work out some kinks, get back on track, or completely overhaul because the plot is straying or dying a bit, tell me! i'd do the same for you. we can figure it out together. team work makes the dream work, my dudes.

SIX. i don't plot budding romance, that has to come naturally between our characters. however, if it's something in the past or already established, that's fine by me. i don't do with minors, of course). if you're a minor or your character is a minor, buzz off.

SEVEN. finally, when it comes to starting, i don't do any of that "you ask, you start" stuff. if it makes sense for the plot to start with a certain character, that's who should start.

The Vanishing of Shin Jin Ho

Nearly a decade into her rule and Bora still works tirelessly outside of her duties on the search for her brother. Over the years, she's had many leads and she's traveled many paths, but all of them take her to dead ends. Despite still holding onto the feeling that the eldest Shin is still alive and out there somewhere, she's starting to lose momentum and the will continue. Be it for pre-existing loyalty, hopes for a reward, or whatever other reason, you've decided to help the viceroy suo jure on her personal quest. [I'm expecting/hoping that this will be a longer term plot with lots of little plots within it! Just whatever roadblocks and twists we can come up with until we get to the point of finding her brother.]

Down the End of a Blade

More often than not, Bora travels with a couple of guards and her lady in waiting; however, there are times when she chooses to go alone. But because of her title and her status as the only heir left to her province, she's very careful about her personal livelihood and takes full advantage of her secret sword training. She has thousands of people to look after, after all. On one of her solo journeys, Bora's guard is especially up after word of bandits along the path she's taking. When you approach her from behind, the tip of her blade is inches from your neck within seconds and you only have just as long to explain yourself to safety.

A Welcome Befitting Nobility

It's exceedingly rare that someone from Tradian, or other satellite territories, actually comes to visit Villeport, all modes of communication being written memos sent via messenger. This isn't for no reason. Villeport is the only territory of the kingdom that's on the other side of a sea. For whatever reason though, you've made the week (or more) long journey across land and sea to visit the lone territory without any notice. Though she's caught off guard by the sudden arrival, what sort of viceroy would Bora be to not provide a personal welcome for such an important first-time visitor?
