takuya never planned for any of this. when a vampire baby was found by the people of his village and they suggested killing it, he, as a decent human being, stepped out in protest. somehow that escalated and he was barricading himself with the newborn, feeding it his blood and almost starving to death in the process. the villager's rage didn't fade and soon he had to run for his life. he ran to the vampire coven most present in his area... the lamia. was that the day he lost everyone he held dear back in the village? or was it the day he alone refused to let the newborn vampire die? no matter.
he could never go back.
the lamia crown prince took pity on him. he turned him and granted him land to take care of the child, whose birth parents were dead.

some could argue that Takuya chose his current life but he certainly didn't plan on becoming a vampire when he stepped forward to shield that child. he didn't intend to lose his friends, his family, and trade it for a life dedicated to a child that was not his own. not to misunderstand, he loves the little thing. how could he not? it was the sole reason the vampires hadn't ripped him to shreds when he'd appeared at their doorstep.
the baby is, as bad as it sounds, his shield and therefore the focus of his new life. who knows what the vampires would do to him, if he did something wrong to the child... however, Takuya is a decent person. no one should have to grow up without parents and he is determined to do his best to fill that gap.
he truly appreciates everything the crown prince has done to help but he'd be lying to say life was a dream. the stress, the pressure was overwhelming. after all, he was just a random human from some village in the middle of nowhere. he had been raised learning that vampires were his masters. despite now being one himself, he still feels inferior.
the anxiety of unplanned fatherhood (and vampire-hood) sometimes bubbles over. the pent-up emotions occasionally reveal themselves in unfortunate bursts of violence.
summary: Takuya is a nice guy in over his head.
