Mo Nabi grew up living primarily with her ill mother in Shanghai. She would stay with her father and older brother in Singapore during her summer and winter breaks only to make her mother happy. Everything she did was to make her mother smile. Nabi sang and danced for her mom when she was asked to and loved it until her mom passed when she was fourteen. The same year she was accepted into a company in Beijing. Against the wish of her dad, Nabi went off to Beijing and started her training. He then told her that she was no longer his child.
